I really had high hopes for Hyundai in Sweden, to at least shake off the dominance from Toyota, it now sure looks like this is a season where Toyota will dominate every single race
A Cross-Border Symphony of Strides
From January 21st to 24th, 2026, I embarked on a journey that transcended mere mileage—the Relay of Champions. Organized by Dominic Kremer and RAIFIKI RUNNERS LIMITED, this wasn't just a run; it was a nomadic celebration of human endurance and unity. Our squad of seven—comprising two Kenyans, three Dutch, and two Ugandans—set out with a singular, heartbeat-driven goal to bridge the distance between Kapchorwa and Iten.
Preparation was a visceral experience. A week prior, I scouted our Kenyan route from Kitale to Iten, trading running shoes for a motorcycle. My mission was to weave through the hidden veins of the countryside, intentionally avoiding the sterile roar of highways to find the raw, authentic paths that define our landscape.
The official expedition began in the quiet chill of Eldoret. Alongside Nancy, representing Kenya and Running Eldoret, we joined Dominic and our reliable driver to unite with the rest of the crew. We rode through the lush greenery of Western Kenya, crossing the border into Tororo and onward to Mbale. It was there we finally integrated with our Dutch teammates—Josh, Van Dam, and our visual storyteller, Tsega.
Arriving in Kapchorwa, the "Home of Champions" in Uganda, we met our final pieces of the puzzle: Winny Cherop and Elijah Chemonges. We checked into the Home of Friends Resort, where the air felt thick with the spirit of world-class athletes. Over a shared dinner, the initial nerves of the mission dissolved into the easy camaraderie of a shared purpose.
Our first morning in Uganda was a sensory awakening. We moved through Kapchorwa’s rolling hills, eventually finding ourselves at the majestic Sipi Falls. We spent hours immersed in the Sebei culture, the Kalenjin of Uganda. Wandering through villages, the laughter of children and the rhythm of rural paths served as a profound reminder of why we run: to connect.
That evening, we gathered at a Ugandan family’s home for a feast of matoke and local vegetables. Huddled around a crackling bonfire, stories flowed as freely as the tea. These conversations under the starlit sky were the final mental fuel we needed before the ultimate physical test that awaited us at dawn.
I had the honor of kicking off the relay through the rugged valleys of the Suam border. We navigated 122km of dirt roads and sun-drenched villages, arriving in Kitale by evening. After a brief rest, we rose before the sun to conquer the final 141km stretch to Iten. Every hand-off of the relay felt like a sacred baton of trust being passed between nations.
What an incredible journey of sports tourism and community! A special shout-out to our driver, Kandi, whose navigation was as flawless as our teamwork. This experience proved that when we run together, borders disappear, leaving only the dust, the sweat, and the triumph of the human spirit

Lmao…hate watched the whole race. I really really don’t care for Max at all. The fact that RB seem to have found good form is making what has already been a shit season even less enjoyable for me😂😂😂
God I hate Max 😂😂😂
