@EddieJamro84189 Again, the word perfection is not even in the verses. You are making things up. Below I have the RSV and the NIV. I can add others as well and the word perfection is just not there in the most common translations.
@EddieJamro84189 2 Tim does not say “nothing else is needed or necessary.” Not even close. YOU are adding that to Scripture. Just like Luther added the word “alone” before removing it. You are projecting your Protestant reading in opposition to the traditional reading of the earliest Christians.
@joshwhitlatch No. All grace flows from Christ and His Sacrifice. He enables us to cooperate with Him through that grace and calls us to act in love + charity. The Sola folks rely entirely on themselves and only ascent to what THEY choose. Actual no submission to any authority except self.
@joshwhitlatch You mean like Jesus and his Apostles?
James 2:14-26
John 14:15
Titus 3:5-8
Romans 4:2-8
Matthew 7:21
Matthew 7:24-27
Luke 6:47-49
Shall I continue?
@EthanLevins2 So who gets to decide who is and is not AS? This is sooooo dangerous. Congress already attempted to pass a law that contradicts the historic Catholic understanding from scripture on the issue. But, it may be our cross to bear and suffering to endure.
Christians gather in the street to pray.
An immigrant walks up, spits at them, and tries to shut it down.
Bad move. He picked the Christian who doesn’t turn the other cheek.
@exRhenum@FreeIrishman7@FrMikeCSC I’m familiar with it and have compassion for the sentiment but don’t believe the modern Church is invalid. I think some of the hierarchy on down, their souls are in grave danger for leading faithful into actual apostasy. It’s a very difficult time in the Church. Pray for them.
@exRhenum@FreeIrishman7@FrMikeCSC It is not invalid. And neither are any of the ancient rites. Canon law gives the priest the right through past encyclicals( Quo Primum etc) to say valid old rites any time they want. But they also must submit to their Bishop. So it would be the Bishop/Pope who is in error.
@FreeIrishman7@FrMikeCSC I don’t like the aesthetic of the NO Mass but it IS valid and can be promulgated beautifully and reverently by good priests(EP1 only). I agree there are shortcomings with the liturgy. They ignore prayers and omit the Saints. But read in full, there are no actual errors in it.
@FreeIrishman7@FrMikeCSC That’s not true. There aren’t many out there. But hard to find is a reach.
And, What do you say about those that have nothing but a NO to go to in their town and are doing their best to be faithful among poor catechism. They know the truth but have access to tradition.
