I'm a strong leader of people, with 25 years of experience as a builder of high-performance teams that get things done in IT Operations and Risk Management.
@steffanwatkins Because bombardier has a Pearson land base, they're the company that would be charging the parking fees. Because they're the manufacturer, they can do test and ferry flights without a registration.
@steffanwatkins@karenmccrimmon I should also note that many commercial aircraft are registered as "owned" by their operators even though they are leased from a financing company.
@steffanwatkins@karenmccrimmon But the transfer of ownership happened when the cheque cleared, the registrations of the transfer with the FAA and TC followed much later.
@GravyPlaneWatch Correction: The CL650 is listed on that site under "Wanted for acquisition" and not under "For sale" - they just never took down the want ad when they bought it.
@steffanwatkins I'm not bored enough to look this up myself, but you might be....
How did Ford do his Texas trip? Was it a charter with ACASS?

@steffanwatkins The province's fleet (solicitor general and ministry of natural resources) doesn't have any similar types themselves, so this is the safe and proper way to have an oddball - like how the RCMP doesn't actually own their Blackhawks.
@steffanwatkins ACASS is a charter owner/operator that already has similar aircraft in their fleet, I expect this is just a dedicated contract like CargoJet has for AirDrake.
@steffanwatkins C-FBBW was imported and registered in Canada by ACASS on 2026-04-10 and it first flew to Canada (Pearson) with that registration on 2026-04-15.

@steffanwatkins Except the Mode-S number actually is the tail number just encoded in to hexadecimal for transmission. It's a conversion algorithm, not a lookup table.
@steffanwatkins@nationalpost Ah, you weren't clear about what part of the claims you considered suspect. The article says "up to" 4 and then clarifies that the 4th is contracted to Alberta instead of RCMP.
