Well... Anthropic which started out with an AI ethics narrative and intention is now allying itself tightly with the US military & intel establishment, https://t.co/Df7FvKVZAl

Having spent a number of years living in DC consulting for military and intel agencies, in a past part of my life, I know that the vast majority of folks working in this domain are well-intentioned and out for the good of humanity as well as of their own particular nation.

However, to work closely with the military and intel agencies of one particular country on how to best make your proprietary AI model suit their needs -- and not give the same privilege to watchdogs monitoring the improprieties and excesses of said agencies, or to other nations -- explicitly feeds the narrative and reality of a global "AI arms race."

It's a disturbing combination with Anthropic's recent manifesto arguing that (as I concur) human-level AGI is probably quite near.

If human-level AGI is near, and Anthropic thinks they may be near to creating it, do they really think embedding their AI closely into the IT systems of one particular country's military and intel infrastructure is the best way to work toward a beneficial AGI outcome for humanity?

A cynical take would be that they don't really agree with me that AGI is near, and are using that rhetoric to raise money while doing concrete business under the assumption that the foreseeable future is really "narrow AI as usual"...

Another cynical take would be that they do feel AGI is near, and they want to be sure the US gov't doesn't mess with them as they move toward rolling out AGI, so they want to get in bed with the US gov't as tightly as possible.

A less cynical take would be that they are simply uncoordinated and different parts of their organization are doing divergent things without thinking much about it.

Another take would be that they think AGI is near, and they think the best way to get beneficial AGI is to give it to the US military and intel establishment?

Hmm...

Phenomenal to see the entire world coming closer and closer to what we have built @Hypercycle_AI the node owners and/or operators will be proud to realize they can adopt any TM including what these guys at coinbase have built. This doesn't mean it will depend on it, this only means the node has the ability to have additional Transaction Machines and that's by design. We have anticipated almost most of the evolutionary steps that many have taken and many will take. Including what's soon will be unraveled by the likes of Meta, OpenAI, Google, AWS and most interestingly Grok (wait for that sleeping giant to come out) @grok has the potential to surpass many of its peers. We will continue building the network enabler for every AI agent out there. @Hypercycle_AI is probably additive, then certain integrations can make their offering multiplicative. Node owners and operators can make exponentiate the entire setup if they choose to.

1- On one end, it enables it to make more money every fraction of a second in every node it is running.
2- On another end, it enables it to get more intelligent every fraction of a second due to the emergence.
