When you Leovanni Antepost and she’s pulled on the day due to the ‘ground’ even though she won on Good to Firm at the meeting last year.
Finished 1.5L behind the winner as a 2yo but was 3lb better off today.
Sums up the week! It’s great being a punter. 🫤
@nfluk_tickets They 'could' be the prices, but wow.
Just looked at 'Premium' tickets and they are being sold in Block 239 now. Last year I had these in 311. But 311 looks like it's now Cat 2, so £50 cheaper for same seat but no food.
But £178 for Cat 7 and £144 for Cat 8, wow.
@tony_calvin@AKBets Is a fairer (more punter friendly) method of calculating r4's needed across the industry? ie, r4 is applied to the price of the selection being removed from the market at time of bet placement? NR was 16/1 when bet placed (no r4), 12/1 when made NR (5p r4).
@tony_calvin@AKBets Are Skybet cutting prices before setting NRs? 120 Aintree (Sat), 20p r4 at 365, 60p r4 at Sky. Obviously Sky are shorter per runner as extra places on offer, but a 40p difference across 5 runners selections being declared NRs?
@MikeParcej@McConnellRacing@CobdenHarry Evening Mike. Any idea when we will see Flying Fortune back on the track? I saw she was enter at Cheltenham during the November meeting, but not declared. She's in my 12TF and I'm getting nervous about her not being out anytime soon, given the wet months ahead!
Some quality racing in Oz this morning.
Duke De Sessa wins the Caulfield Cup in nice fashion going early and seeing it out well.
Bella Nipotina takes the Everest.
However, seeing Think About It walk back in was the biggest and best winner of the day.
Last year’s The Everest winner Think About It walks back to the stalls after falling in the Sydney Stakes. Great news that he’s up on his feet and appears to be moving okay.
@jamesaknight@kevinblake2011@AtTheRaces The question should be, is the whip rule right? And if the answer is yes, the 2nd question is then, are the penalties for breaking this rule enough of a deterrent to stop jockeys from breaking it? And how do the BHA ensure that an unplaced horse/jockey didn’t break the limit?
@jamesaknight@kevinblake2011@AtTheRaces We’ve spoke about this many times over the years (Total Recall in the then Hennessy and one more that I can’t remember) and I agree result for Betting purposes can’t be changed post weighed in. Would kill the game, punting wise. And Whisper getting done cost me a fair wedge!
@nyjets What was there to recap? The terrible play calling? Did anyone check the weather report before the game plan was put in place? The fact that we forget that a rookie QB was standing back there and thought not blitzing was a great idea? Fire the lot of them. #13yearsofsuffering
@Coo84_ff Agreed. Gets 9 yards on 1st down. 2nd & 1, just run it again. But no, we try some quick out in the cold rain and 30 secs later it’s 3rd and 8. I’m losing the will to live.
With this OLine establish the run to set up the pass. And pressure rookie QBs. It’s not rocket science.
