@AlexMuirQA I have a lot of things to say
1. Goods Counter
It's frustrating to be trying a PFC and think you have all the Perfects and get to a pause or the end of the song and see the score and realize that you had a good note at some point in the song.
@AlexMuirQA A couple of things.
1. Stick to the season theme.
Festival had the biggest gain ever seen with the release of the Miku season, yet sheโs getting bad treatment with the song picks. The player count dropped right back to below 10k after a couple of week, which is a massive fumble.
@AlexMuirQA Would like to fully agree with what JuanPGP and Eezku said. There are some basic quality of life features lacking in this game mode. I understand that implementing a practice mode is challenging, so I wont harp. However there are a few more things I'd like to see.
@AlexMuirQA and i'd also like to mention that especially on the pad side of the community we do not feel heard AT ALL. I understand you have Alec and Jason as feedback, but why not also have people like Mdcurtis, WorseAverage, JuanPGP (and many more) be another voice for community feedback?
@AlexMuirQA 4. More community outreach overall.
I think if the Festival team communicated with its fanbase more, we would feel more happy as fans of the game. It's rarely even communicated when a change is made, and when we complain it feels like its getting thrown into the void :(
@AlexMuirQA would also like to send my own clip of a frequent desync issue that happens. I understand this is due to the songs being streamed, but there has to be a better way to go about this to prevent these issues
@AlexMuirQA 1. Performance in this gamemode is lacking, and I think that adding some sort of toggle for rendering the stage would help people with lower end PCs. The game is optimized for console, not PC. Having a toggle would allow better performance for people who only care about gameplay.
@AlexMuirQA I've been in the community for this game for over a year and what I can say is that we are EXTREMELY dedicated to the game and WANT to enjoy it like we did in seasons 2 and 3. It hasn't felt the same recently due to lackluster song drops and impeding performance issues.
@AlexMuirQA 5. The Calibration system is extremely wonky. PC players have to have a latency that's usually +100 ms or more if they want to play optimally, and console has to adjust quite a bit as well. This makes the game harder to pick up and play! And the tune up bot is not helpful at all
@AlexMuirQA Point 3 continued:
(more examples: Counting Stars Lead, a LOT of Season 1 vocal charts)
I'd say that the best time to do this would be at the beginning of a new season if a chart just doesn't hit the mark in terms of fun. The only positive chart change I've seen is Fly drums.
@AlexMuirQA 3. Chart Updates. There are earlier charts that are horribly dated and inconsistent with the charting style of today. Some need to be re-evaluated for fun and playability (removing lifts and better patterns!)
Examples:
One Lead, Seek and Destroy Lead, Don't Fear The Reaper Drums
@AlexMuirQA 2. More song variety. This game has been leaning heavily into tiktok songs and nostalgia from 2010s pop hits. There are very little songs from some genres.
Dropping songs that have more variety would give something for everyone.
Example:
1 Pop, 1 Metal, 1 Punk, 1 Rap in a drop.
