A glaring hole in the Coastal Carolina Athletics Hall of Fame is Jerome Simpson.
Too much history & too many records broken to not ensure he has a place in our HOF.
Would be great to see him invited to be around our program more this year.

Nice viewing of the young southpaw from East Clarendon. 2029 Easton Donlin cruises in his first inning of work displaying a three pitch mix.

TE Coach Kriss Proctor and OL Coach Derek Warehime are no longer with the program.
Trey Carter will coach the offensive line, while Grayson McCall will coach the TE group ahead of the Chanticleers bowl game.
This tweet got a lot of interaction.
I wanted to address a few key points to creating this model of a School-Wide Summer Training Program:
1. Hire a Qualified S&C Coordinator to be in charge of programming. Preferably one for Boys AND Girls. Pay them a stipend.
2. Pay sport coaches hourly to show up and help. Rotate them throughout the month and maximize their strengths.
3. Set a specific time (Ex. 8:00-9:30am) for training. Sports-specific work happens outside of that time.
4. Get input from sport coaches on metrics that matter most to them. Involve them in the process.
5. Build programming that addresses all key areas: Sprint, Jump, Throw, Lift. Don't just destroy them in the Weight Room.
6. Programming should reflect training age. Progress accordingly. Freshman shouldn't be Maxing out first day "to get a baseline"....
7. Record, Rank, and Publish data to show improvement to sport coaches. Adjust programming as necessary.
8. Find the Minimum Effective Dose to move the needle. If you go 2 hrs, try 1.5 hrs. If you go 4 days, try 3 days.
9. Make it fun. Create competition. It doesn't have to be a GRIND!
10. Rest and Recovery should be scheduled in systematically. 3 or 4-day weekends every week. 7-10 days off in the middle and end of summer. Kids will still get 8 training weeks.
I'm working on...
"The Ultimate School-Wide Summer Training Program"

@CoachShiffman For the debate on the offensive lineman. We don't discriminate, they all taste delicious after 15 or so. But, I personally would have placed at least 2 pitchers, a tall boy, and the cans would be whatever was on sale/cheapest! Just sayin
@baseballbatbros watched the atlas 1000 hits video. This kid broke the blue one in late February and the black one in April. South Carolina, official league practice balls, A1010hs/pro games. Wagu balls this particular game.
Pretty neat pic!!!
