Sir Alex Ferguson on why he believed in young players:

"I had belief in young people because if you give them an opportunity, there are two things that happen, they become real stars, and they can remain loyal to you as a manager."

"I did exactly the same when I was in charge at St Mirren and Aberdeen" [BBC]

🚨 NEW: Louis van Gaal has been told he should consider legal action over Manchester City’s part in his 2016 Manchester United sacking.

AD columnist Sjoerd Mossou argued that City’s confirmed guilt on all 115 Premier League charges and their alleged “sham” arrangements to dodge financial rules - underpinned a decade of dominance that included finishing fourth in 2015/16 on goal difference while United finished fifth, missing the Champions League despite Van Gaal winning the FA Cup and then losing his job.

🚨🗣 Rio Ferdinand on JJ Gabriel:

"First and foremost, what a talent this kid is, It’s crazy.

‘I don’t know where this kid’s ceiling is. I’ve seen him play, I’ve seen him train, I’ve listened to people who have coached him for a number of years and there's NO DOUBT this kid is going to the top..’

‘I think we need to understand the reasons why he wants to leave the club. It’s NOT a 15-year-old making this call on his own, his family may have their reasons why

"But Manchester United can’t be seen to be BULLIED by a 15-year-old, no matter how good he is. So whatever the outcome, Manchester United have to remain strong in this.

‘There will be other kids using this as a reference point so you can’t be seen to be weak as a football club. But, I reiterate, I don’t know the full facts and I would love to.’

🚨🚨🎙️| Rio Ferdinand on JJ Gabriel:

"Manchester United cannot give the image of a club that lets itself be intimidated by a 15-year-old kid, however talented he may be." 😤
