@allenholub What are your views on product analytics out of interest? Do they hold greater weight than most other metrics? Or are they still a big distraction from talking to customers. My only concern with the "talking" method is its limited scope which could lead to a biased interpretation
@allenholub The "Inspect - Adapt" loop seems to be the only standard process that is high level enough to not replace agility with ritualism after many iterations.
@RichardW1001@allenholub Oh I agree! I was more just mentioning my experience that people seem to use this quote as a critique of measurements in general when really it's just a critique of bad measurements
@allenholub It seems mainly to be used as an argument against measuring but Goldratt points to measuring throughput, inventory and operational expense in the Goal
@allenholub I always find it interesting how the second part of that quote rarely gets used:
..."If you measure me in an illogical way… do not complain about illogical behavior…” (1)
@allenholub I guess my only remaining question then is about the best ways to inform an agile mindset to other chapters of the business who may not be as aware of it. It seems that organisational instructs these kinds of things, so how best do we use that knowledge to our advantage?
@allenholub If this, as I understand correctly, needs to happen at the earliest point of customer contact then it seems imperative that this be explained at the sales process. Have I got that right?
@allenholub how can organisations best convince customers who initially seem to rather due dates, defined milestones and overall contract negotiation that an agile mindset will delight them much more
@allenholub Thanks, will read this and hopefully learn something. I've been taking the lead from Vacanti in regards to measurements. However, flow metrics mainly highlight routes for learning and dont give the whole picture on productivity. I suspect nothing can
