@PatrikPetrin We have a franchise centre, elite PP D man and a solid goalie. The frameworks there. Defensively we’re not sound enough. OEL is overpaid considering the likes of Dahlin and Hedman are similar cap hits. Poor contracts put stress on the rest of the team.
Bodyweight strength exercises can be beneficial to speed development
3 great exercises that focus on sprint-specific training with *little equipment 👇🏾
1️⃣ Step Up Jumps
- step on box / bench
- drive foot down & punch opp knee
- drive as high vertically as possible
@PatrikPetrin@TheHockeyNews Only much better in his own end this season looking at defensive metrics. Makars also on a much better team. I thought you’d recognise this with how bad Dahlins numbers have been this year showing defending is a team effort. Hughes needs some help and time to develop.
@TheRealF1ash@Trigger_Trey7 Depends on the athlete. A running back weighing 200+ pounds running that range is legit fast. Bolts WR in the 100m equates to around a 4.00 dead and I’m sure he’s hit 4.2 at the combine one year. So for players not training track 4.3s fast in terms of football speed.
@PatrikPetrin@patersonjeff Don’t think it’s him more the contact and a grease that should never be made. Yes I’m sure you’ll say he deserved it from previous seasons but that doesn’t make it ok. Poor business by Benning really.
@PatrikPetrin Takes time to but size like say Krug on at that height. Quinn will adapt high hockey IQs always find a way. He had this type of pressure from Vegas in the playoffs and managed to adapt. He’ll get better every year.
@PatrikPetrin@RossLevitan The guys been through the mill with injuries and had a long off season. Finally healthy and a generational D talent. Always improves as the season goes on he’ll figure it out. If the guy can come back from an Achilles’ tendon tear in 10 weeks. He’ll bounce back from the other inn
@PatrikPetrin Thought Karlsson took a step back towards his normal self last night the skating was up a notch and his fitness looked better. Doesn’t seem to have issues on that ankle defending the rush anymore either.
@HarryAA100m Do people think you can just naturally run low 10 - sub 10. Do people not realise that top speed is relative, if you can’t hold it for a sufficient time frame. It’s not even worth any of the sprinters time racing these guys. Would be embarrassing.
@PatrikPetrin Normally enjoy your takes and I’m a big fan of Swedish players but I’m sick of reading this now. Ian Clark made Marky what he was and cleaned up his game. Total confidence if he’s picked Demko to be the future number 1 he’ll get it right.
@PatrikPetrin I’ve said it time and time again. Clark made Markstrom a top 10 goalie. If he’s walked Clark will of had a lot to do with it. He probably believes another two years development and and Demko will be ready. Timeshare in the meantime and and Holtby saves cap space!
@PatrikPetrin@BimJenning69 I’ve got to say that Markstrom is as much a product of the Ian Clark/Canucks defensive system and team development as anything. He’s a number one in this system and I’m sure he’d do well elsewhere but if Clark thinks Demkos ready he’ll be gone.
@canuemailme@chrmacl@taj1944 Not sure what numbers you’re looking at but Petey totally outscores Rantanen if you compare their first two full NHL seasons. Rantanen 122 points, EP 132. Rantanen also played more games over those first 2 seasons. EP obviously had this one cut short.
@PatrikPetrin @tony_tanti If he does great but this is still a numbers game. If Demkos close to Markys level, he won’t be back. Use that cap space to sign Hughes and EP and develop the D core. Moves like this make a team. Maybe Demkos a Matt Murray, maybe he’s a Vasilevskiy. I trust Clark to get it right.
@PatrikPetrin @tony_tanti I know how much you love 🇸🇪 players but, It’s a numbers game. Marky will want north of 6 million. Demko could become the starter with an experienced backup for less cap space. Ultimately in Ian Clark we trust to help decide if Demko is ready!
