John Adams, writing to Abigail, about the Continental Congress' vote in favor of independence on July 2, 1776:
"The Second Day of July 1776, will be the most memorable Epocha, in the History of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more. You will think me transported with Enthusiasm but I am not. -- I am well aware of the Toil and Blood and Treasure, that it will cost Us to maintain this Declaration, and support and defend these States. -- Yet through all the Gloom I can see the Rays of ravishing Light and Glory. I can see that the End is more than worth all the Means. And that Posterity will tryumph in that Days Transaction, even altho We should rue it, which I trust in God We shall not."
Every day that goes by, we see more clearly why Ben Shapiro might be one of the last remaining voices on the right who is genuinely for America, free of personal scandal or manufactured controversy, and not a sellout.
In an environment driven by outrage, opportunistic pivots, and endless reinventions, his consistency stands out. Agreement or disagreement aside, he shows up prepared, structured, and intellectually disciplined. No theatrics, no constant rebranding, no ideological bending for clicks.
He is a rare phenomenon these days, and it is important to give respect where it is due.
Well done, patriot.
If you were a Greenlander and Trump offered you $1 million each to become a US citizen and a US state, would you accept?
It would cost the US less than 60 billion dollars to pay for it which means closing down just 3 Somali Day Care Centres.
@mcuban Kevin’s point on the tariffs is to use them as a tool to get China to negotiate on knockoffs and IP theft, among other things… he says it pretty clearly in his post, Mark…
