It’s crazy what Spurs spending money is doing to people…

Chelsea sold their women’s team to themselves for £200m. No complaints.

Aston Villa sold a supporters’ bar not worth more than £7m to a sister company for £55m. No issue.

Villa breaks rules it, along with other PL clubs set, by spending more than 90 per cent of its turnover on wages. That can kill clubs. Not a problem.

And isn’t it amusing that between 2019 and May 2026 it was never an issue, but it is now when Spurs decide to spend.

League position obviously has no impact on what a club can spend. Truly bizarre.

Ange was right, Spurs does crazy things to people.

In case some on X are too young to remember, Newcastle spent a world record £15m on Alan Shearer in 1996.
A record that held for 4 years.
In today's money, its estimated at over £200m.
Spurs top signing that summer was Ramon Vega for £3.75m.
United won the league in 96/97. They signed Solskjaer for £1.5m and Johnsen for £1.2m that summer.
