Today, I convened a comprehensive virtual consultation with Regional Presidents, City Administration Mayors, leaders of the education sector, and key stakeholders to assess progress on two critical national priorities: the digital transformation of Ethiopia’s National Examination and Assessment System, and the accelerated expansion of pre-primary education.
Guided by the Digital Ethiopia 2030 strategy, the transformation of our examination and assessment system stands as a cornerstone of our broader education reform. Our objective is clear—to establish a secure, accessible, fair, and efficient digital platform that not only safeguards the integrity of national examinations but also equips our students with essential digital competencies required to succeed in an increasingly technology-driven world.
During the session, we conducted a thorough review of the preparatory work undertaken by the National Examination Task Force. We underscored the imperative for all responsible institutions and leaders to fully discharge their duties to ensure the successful transition of the Grade 12 National Examination to a fully digital format, thereby laying the foundation for a modern, credible, and equitable national assessment system.
We also reached a firm and shared commitment to complete and operationalize 1,452 standardized pre-primary schools across all regions and the two city administrations by next August—an essential step in strengthening early childhood education and expanding equitable access nationwide.
Furthermore, clear directives were issued to expedite the distribution of already printed primary school textbooks to all schools without delay. In parallel, the printing and delivery of textbooks for pre-primary through Grade 6 must be completed and ensured by next September.
We concluded with a renewed commitment to intensify coordination, strengthen accountability, and accelerate implementation efforts so that the digital examination and assessment system is fully aligned with our national digital transformation agenda.
By advancing digital transformation across all sectors—most critically in education—we are laying the foundation for a resilient, inclusive, and future-ready Ethiopia—one that our children will inherit with confidence and pride.
Victory has an #Ethiopian name and face today and he’s called Tamirat Tola! 🇪🇹
“Two weeks ago, Tola entered the Olympic marathon as a substitute. Now, he is on top of the world!”
He snatches a new Olympic marathon record of 2:06:26.
🌍 Remember him.
We are honored to receive a medal award from H.E. President Sahle-Work for our contribution to the highest annual recorded #coffee export both in size and revenue along with other high profiled actors in the sector.

One of the causes of the achievements realized in the export sector at large and in coffee export in particular is the operationalization of the Ethiopian Electronic Single Window system. Over 1.4 Bil USD per anum is earned due to the holistic modernization task in the sector.
#NID enrollment for Large Tax Payers in the #EthiopianElectronicSingleWindow is being conducted so as to support users' authentication and verification. Hoping that the interoperability between these two critical platforms will be in place soon. @IDEthiopia
Honored and humbled to recieve a certification of regognition for our effort of making the #ECDS of the #ECCSA (Eth. Chamber) of the #EthiopianElectronicSingleWindow systems interoperable for the betternement of the international trade facilitation. #export#internationaltrade
We had a successful technical discussion that aimed to rollout the 2nd phase interfacing development of two critical systems, #ethiopiansinglewindow and #ERIS of the EFDA. As usual, we will launch the operation sooner than expected.
We had a successful sensitization session along with all banks and insurance companies regarding the ESW Advancement Phase project solutions, #RMS, #SLA, #DW & #IT.
Both Electronic Single Window and National ID are digital public goods. The two sides discussed about Services Integration.
