Baking in the 100-degree Texas heat while drinking an ice cold Coors watching Charlie Hough float knuckleballs. Tell me that’s not American living at its finest.
PETE ROSE !!! 4256!!!! “The Hit King”
He was a great guy. For sure a G.O.A.T. He had flaws. & I’ll always say, we all do! Rest in peace my friend !! 3562 games 15890 plate appearances 2165 Runs, 18x more than 150 games 10x 200 hits 17x All/Star 3x WS 1973 MVP
There will never be another like Pete Rose! He battled his entire life, making it to the Big Leagues on determination and grit. He wanted to win every game and get 3 , no make that 4…no, 5 hits everyday. He won batting title because he had the desire and the goal. He wanted Ty Cobb’s record.
Will we ever see this again? 13 seasons of 190+ hits. 3,562 games played. 5,929 times on base. Rookie of the Year, All Star, Gold Glover, Silver Slugger, MVP and World Series Champion. A local kid from Cincinnati who became a King.
We were teammates, business partners and more importantly, in spite of what everyone thought, we were friends. I will miss him dearly.
Life is God’s gift to us, and what we do with it is our gift to Him.
Pete Rose gave God a wonderful gift, and that’s every ounce of his life every day.
@Super70sSports Perfect. Saw him yesterday at a hotel in Franklin Tennessee, and got his autograph a few minutes later. All baseball to the end. Nobody loved it more than he did.
There has never been another player like Pete Rose in my lifetime. This is the way I will remember him, playing the game harder than anyone else ever did.
Few athletes will leave behind more complicated legacies. Today isn’t the day for that.
Today, let’s just say thanks to Charlie Hustle, for playing the way we always dreamt we would if given the chance. #RIP
Pete Rose shares tons of baseball knowledge with A-Rod and Frank Thomas. It’s a 6 minute video, but I promise you, it’s the best thing you’ll see about Pete Rose today.
#RIPPeteRose
Major League Baseball extends its deepest condolences to Pete Rose's family, his friends across the game, and the fans of his hometown of Cincinnati, Philadelphia, Montreal and beyond who admired his greatness, grit and determination on the field of play. May he rest in peace.
A sad day for Cardinal Nation. We all knew the day would come, but we’re ❤️broken. We’ve lost Whitey. We Loved and Adored the “White Rat”. Whitey touched many lives as a Father, Husband, Coach, Mentor, and Friend. My Life was changed because of him. May he rest in Peace.
