Speak to me, muse, of that star-bound ship, the Argo
Of Jason, who sailed galaxies for his throne
Of Aeonia, who was bound in the fateful golden fleece
Of Meleager, who in death found life but not love
And of Ret, the orphan who could hear machines and gods

I’m terrible at spelling in English and would probably be horrible at casting spells in any magic system. You make one typo in your spell and your neighbor is a boar that sounds like a horse, and your true love is a pale flying rat somehow. #amspelling#amwriting
Metals are just rocks we cooked a bunch. A car is a like a roast duck served on a bed of rubber medallions and seasoned with a sprinkling of fine plastic spices.
Avocados are like the classic movie stars of fruit. You better be ready to shoot when they are, or they’ll lock themselves in their trailer and spoil within 5 minutes. #avocados
When unsure how to proceed, I often ask myself, What Would Batman Do? The answer is usually: disappear mysteriously without saying another word or do push-ups. Surprisingly effective. #Batman
I realized that the word “dreadnought,” as in a type of warship, might have initially meant something that feared nothing? We should bring back this naming for our military. A Nervousnever bomber? An Anxietybegone Tank? A Borednope jet fighter?
In preparation for the latest Batman game, I played the Arkham games again and also some that only exist in my head. But hey, whatever gets me to PUNCHALLA. #batman#batmanarkham#gothamknights

I recently purchased a pair of flip flops with bottle cap openers in the soles, not because I want to pop brewskis for my bros, but because they reminded me of the kind of shit ninjas put on their shoes. Now I can effortlessly climb any walls made of bottle caps. #ninja
One of my immeasurable strengths as a devoted purveyor of transcribed anecdotes and invented escapades is my voracious appetite for the aggressive ensconcing of needless adjectives and esoteric descriptors. Something that is the very antithesis of this taciturn format. #amwriting
One of the victories of the surfer counter-culture was taking the word “dude,” which used to be an insult in the old West, and making it a term of endearment and friendship.
I propose a new kind of punctuation: “;-:” or the demidashcolon. It would cover all uses of semicolons, colons, and dashes. Don’t know which to use with a list versus separating two clauses? Guess what? It doesn’t matter. Things still read the same. Just use ;-: #amwriting
Journey with me to PUNCHALLA, through far-away galaxies and times long ago, as I swing my laser sword in Star Wars: Fallen Order. @FallenOrderSW

I realized that the old saying “what a racket!” and anti-racketeering laws are probably related. But why racket? Was there some famous badminton tournament that was so corrupt it led to the word becoming irrevocably linked with crime?
Since trailers come before movies nowadays, shouldn’t we rename them to something more appropriate like “harbingers,” “omens,” “portents,” or even “foreshadows”? #movies
There are two types of people: those who look down at their feet when walking, and those who step in poop. What we need are shoes that detect poop and emit some kind of poop alarm. Then we could walk around all day looking at the sky without worry.
I often find that a word or phrase shows up too often in a particular voice I’m using to write, like it’s the keystone to the narrator. The question then becomes can I reduce it in obvious frequency without losing the voice. #amwriting
My journey to PUNCHALLA continues. This time, I try to punch and kick my way through DOOM, DOOM ETERNAL, and my own imaginary sequel. @doom

A wooden nickel would be worth a lot more than 5 cents. Somebody probably carved it by hand. So the old adage about not taking wooden nickels should be reversed. Always take a wooden nickel. You can always sell it on etsy or something.
