5.) If only one team from a conference makes the playoffs, it should be the champion
To summarize what I just said
Bama ✅
Duke > Miami
Ohio state to the 5 seed
This may be a hot take but with the expanded CFB playoff format I believe:
1.) P4 conference championships regardless of where they’re ranked in the AP 25 deserve to be in the playoffs
2.) Unless you’re on the outside looking in, losing a P4 conference championship should not be the reason you miss the playoffs
3.) With that being said, first round byes should be given to conference championships regardless of ranking.
I’ve played baseball for almost 15 years and I’m pretty confident that I’ve never struck out 3 times in one game. It only took me one slow pitch softball game to accomplish that feat.
Food for thought:
Are advanced baseball analytics data a way to explain the eye test?
Examples
He moves really well = eye test
He has a range factor of 4.2 = advanced analytics
He went 0-4 but hit the ball well = eye test
He has a high xwOBA despite his stats = advanced
Thanks @NYCMayor for your brilliant idea of celebrating a 2nd round win like the finals. Naming streets after players after they accomplished what they were supposed to is genius. I am forever indebted to you!
This was my first time pitching in almost 6 years. This was also the first time I wore a hat while playing in over 4 years. Such a cool and surprising experience. Thanks for the opportunity!
It’s also important to note that some of Elly’s errors are a result of a difficult play. Some of his errors are on plays that would be a base hit if an average SS was on the field.
Elly De La Cruz is the anti-Derek Jeter. Yeah he may make 30 errors a year but he’ll get to balls that no other shortstop would dream of getting to. It begs the question, who would you rather have?
Baseball needs to find different names for bWAR and fWAR because they’re so misleading. Logic would lead the casual fan (and some serious fans) to believe that bWAR is batting and fWAR is fielding when in actuality it’s just two websites interpretation of a confusing stat
