Barnaby Joyce racked up $675,000 in expenses in 3 weeks as drought envoy. He says he sent texts to PM Scott Morrison who blocks our FOI requests & refuses to produce phone records. Retweet if you want to see the texts, a police investigation. or both? Your taxes evaporated!

Today’s the day, witches.
The day we release our new #MurdochFreeWorld campaign.
And as we’ve said before, the success of this new campaign is totes up to you.
If we all try hard enough, we could erase some of Rupert Murdoch’s newspapers and TV shows from the cafes, workplaces and airports of this country, which would reduce the spread of his hate and lies and (as a bonus) reveal his piss-poor circulation and ratings figures for what they really are. (If you didn’t know, #NewsCorpse delivers millions of their rags for free which drastically inflates their readership figures, and inflates their TV ratings by encouraging hotels and others to play his shit shows in their premises.)
Google what the UK city of Liverpool did to Murdoch’s “Sun” newspaper if you want to know what we could achieve. They were mad as hell, and refused to take it any more.
And so should we all be.
The Voice referendum failed because of Murdoch. The war in Gaza goes on longer and more violently than it needs to because of Murdoch. We’re all getting #COVID19 more often than we need to because of Murdoch. The misogyny, racism and other forms of oppression we all abhor survive for longer because of Murdoch. And nearly all our journalists lie and lie or at least enable the lying of their colleagues because Murdoch moved the media’s Overton window way over towards the normalisation of deception, hatred and the despicable, privileged viewpoints of the pale stale male fuckheads who rule our press.
It has to fucking stop.
So today’s the day.
Here’s how.
There’s a new link on our website which takes you to a page with a new database where we’ll record all the organisations which give away Murdoch content for free. You can find it her:
https://t.co/BVU1xbwILr
Be aware: we’re NOT including suppliers which sell Murdoch content such as newsagents, but that may change. For now, our targets are businesses which supply Murdoch-owned newspapers or play Murdoch-owned TV channels to their customers, clients, staff and/or patients for free. Most of these will be:
- cafes, fast food businesses, restaurants and hotels
- schools and universities
- hospitals and medical centres
- airports, train stations and bus stations
- hairdressing salons
- car repair businesses
In essence, any place where there’s a Murdoch-owned newspaper supplied for you to read free of charge while you eat/drink/wait, or where there’s a Murdoch-owned TV station playing in a public area.
We’ll list these businesses in our website database based on their electorate within Australia. (The campaign may also spread internationally soon, depending on witchy enthusiasm.)
What do we want you to do?
Two things:
1. Report these Murdoch-supplying businesses to us, by sending us an email to [email protected]. We need to know the name of the business, its street address, its state and electorate, and what content is provided to customers or other business users. If possible, a pic attached of the content within the business will also help.
2. We’ll get the listings asked for in Point 1 onto the database linked above, then we’ll ask you to contact those businesses within your own electorate which supply Murdoch content, and ask them to stop. You’ll need to tell them you won’t buy or use their products and services (if you have choice in this) until they stop supplying Murdoch-owned content. We’ll ask you to politely contact businesses in your area via phone, email or social media message (or in person if you wish) to tell them why they shouldn’t provide Murdoch content and what they’ll lose if they continue to do so.
The sooner you can start sending us listings, the sooner this takes off, witches. And it’s a competition: we want to see which Aussie electorate can ban Murdoch content the fastest.
Early next week, we’ll get listings into the new database then supply more instructions for the campaign as it ramps up.
For now: it’s all hands on deck, or on brooms.
Are you in?

@redruby17@auspost I've watched drivers pull up at my place and just chuck prefilled "nobody was home" cards in my mailbox without even approaching the house. Tried to complain at the local office but was told they're contractors.
@SkyNewsAust I love how Sky News doesn't report actual news. This ones a great example: Not a journalist thinks aging singers guess on Govt spending could be right.
@australian Funny this is only an issue for the Australian when said company chooses the progressive argument. Where was the article about tax dollar funded church groups campaigning on the no side for marriage equality? Did you run a piece on Gloria Jeans campaigning no on said campaign?
