@TheLtColUSMC Absolutely, civilians can’t understand this, I just hope they appreciate it. Leaving the Corps is a battle I fought for years, both the few years before I left and for many years after.
@TheLtColUSMC@TallPog@SecWar I can’t imagine how motivating it would be to have him PT with the troops. I bet every single one of them pushed themselves to exhaustion because of his presence that day.
@TheLtColUSMC For someone as old as you that’s impressive! It’s pretty good for the average Marine, but for the really really, really, really, really old Marines like you, that’s great!
@Ivan_Snook@TheLtColUSMC His record of success seems to give it away. The snobby officers who think they’re better than enlisted simply because they went to college directly out of high school, instead of having to work for their degree, don’t seem to drive nearly as much success.
@TheLtColUSMC An international incident this extreme will likely leave a negative impact for years. It is critical that the situation is handle appropriately.
I am heartbroken and deeply saddened by this news. My deepest condolences are with the victim’s family and loved ones. 💔
To my Japanese friends and to the Okinawan community that has meant so much to me over the years, my heart is with you.
You deserved better than this.
@Andre_YMKYMFOI@TheLtColUSMC After serving 9 years on active duty, I don’t know what a “usual” case would be. Outside of needing a waiver, I am not sure there is an “unusual” case.
@TheLtColUSMC@SierraKilo0811 Civilians struggle to understand how extreme this is. For reference, there are around 180,000 active duty Marines. About 500 are Colonel’s. Said another way, less than 0.5% of all Marines are equal rank or higher. It’s like an hourly employee becoming an executive VP.
It’s official! I’m incredibly proud to share that I’ve been selected for promotion to Colonel of Marines!
From Private to Staff Sergeant. Second Lieutenant to Colonel select. It’s been one hell of a ride.
