Shows early positives of seeing pitches on the edges that aren't strikes. Spoiling ones that are too close to take with a future (55 grade) eye. The hit tool present is a (45 grade) that should be a (55 grade) in the future. A more hit over power type outfielder as he prospers.
I will need to see more than just 1 pinch hit PA to see the true potential of his. Nonetheless this is a great teaser for great things to come for himself and Arizona Diamondback fans alike.
🧵Private Scouting: [Arizona Diamondbacks] #1 prospect; Ryan Waldschmidt, OF makes his Major League debut off the bench. The score was 1-1 in the bottom of the 8th, 2 outs and nobody on the bases when he came in to pinch hit for Adrian Del Castillo, DH [Arizona Diamondbacks].
Waldschmidt is going to be a very capable everyday regular in the MLB showing above average traits in every bat category from his eye to his power in the near future as he grows.

Japan has some legendary sluggers throughout their history, but is this the golden era of Japanese power hitters?
Genuinely curious what y’all think.
@DarkMatter89 You aren't lying my guy! Just look around the MLB. I believe all 5 have an OPS over .795 right now 😎 It's almost like everytime Samurai Japan makes a roster you should be paying attention to about 85% of that team because there is a chance a lot of that 85% will be in MLB.
