Tip:
Do not list your spouse or co-parent by an inappropriate name in your cellular device. A lot of times, text messages are produced in cases and using inappropriate names is considered inappropriate by many Judges.
Question of the Day:
If I get married, does my new spouses income get calculated with my income for child support?
Answer:
When calculating child support the Court does not add the income from both people living in a household or married for child support purposes.
Tip:
Sending your attorney a comprehensive getting to know you email in the first couple days of representation is always helpful for the attorney since they don’t know each fact of your situation. This can be emailed to your attorney and support staff.
Tip:
The knowing, purposeful and reckless destruction of real or personal property can be considered an act of domestic violence under NRS 33.018 (1)(e). There is a duty to safekeep the property pending a distribution by the Court.
Tip:
Even if you’re represented by an attorney, make sure to bring paper and a pen so you can take notes on what happens during Court. After the hearing, send a follow up email to the attorney outlining what you understand happened so the Court’s ruling is clear.
