I DON'T THINK PISSED REALLY COVERS IT! And this is from 2017 while republicans still attack SS.
Alan Simpson, the Senator from Wyoming calls senior citizens the Greediest Generation as he compared "Social Security " to a Milk Cow with 310 million teats. Here's a response in a letter from PATTY MYERS in Montana ... I think she is a little ticked off! She also tells it like it is!
"Hey Alan, let's get a few things straight!!!
1. As a career politician, you have been on the public dole (tit) for FIFTY YEARS.
2. I have been paying Social Security taxes for 48 YEARS (since I was 15 years old. I am now 63).
3. My Social Security payments, and those of millions of other Americans, were safely tucked away in an interest bearing account for decades until you political pukes decided to raid the account and give OUR money to a bunch of zero losers in return for votes, thus bankrupting the system and turning Social Security into a Ponzi scheme that would make Bernie Madoff proud.
4. Recently, just like Lucy & Charlie Brown, you and "your ilk" pulled the proverbial football away from millions of American seniors nearing retirement and moved the goalposts for full retirement from age 65 to age, 67. NOW, you and your "shill commission" are proposing to move the goalposts YET AGAIN.
5. I, and millions of other Americans, have been paying into Medicare from Day One, and now "you morons" propose to change the rules of the game. Why? Because "you idiots" mismanaged other parts of the economy to such an extent that you need to steal our money from Medicare to pay the bills.
6. I, and millions of other Americans, have been paying income taxes our entire lives, and now you propose to increase our taxes yet again. Why? Because you "incompetent bxxxxds" spent our money so profligately that you just kept on spending even after you ran out of money. Now, you come to the American taxpayers and say you need more to pay off YOUR debt.
To add insult to injury, you label us "greedy" for calling "bxxxxxxt" to your incompetence.
Well, Captain Bxxxxxxit, I have a few questions for YOU:
1. How much money have you earned from the American taxpayers during your pathetic 50-year political career?
2. At what age did you retire from your pathetic political career, and how much are you receiving in annual retirement benefits from the American taxpayers?
3. How much do you pay for YOUR government provided health insurance?
4. What cuts in YOUR retirement and healthcare benefits are you proposing in your disgusting deficit reduction proposal, or as usual, have you exempted yourself and your political cronies?
It is you, Captain Bxxxxxxt, and your political co-conspirators called Congress who are the "greedy" ones. It is you and your fellow nutcase thieves who have bankrupted America and stolen the American dream from millions of loyal, patriotic taxpayers.
And for what? Votes and your job and retirement security at our expense, you lunk-headed, leech.
That's right, sir. You and yours have bankrupted America for the sole purpose of advancing your pathetic, political careers. You know it, we know it, and you know that we know it.
And you can take that to the bank, you miserable son of a bxxxxx.
P.S. And stop calling Social Security benefits "entitlements". WHAT AN INSULT!!!!
I have been paying in to the SS system for 45 years “It's my money”-give it back to me the way the system was designed and stop patting yourself on the back like you are being generous by doling out these monthly checks.
I wish I could retweet this a thousand times. This is spot on.
The SAVE America Act is an absurd federal overreach that any normal Republican Congress or president would vehemently oppose, for a million different reasons. There's been a year-long push to sell this bill to the public, but a lot of people cheering it on have never actually read the bill.
Many people don't realize that this bill:
- Hands the federal government control over how states run their own elections.
- Requires states to submit voter rolls to a federal database the government directly controls.
- ... Is federalization of our elections on a scale we've never seen before.
All of this is antithetical to conservatism.
Too many people treat politics like sports these days. They put on the jersey and defend their side no matter what. Some of us refuse to do that.
When you actually believe in deeply held principles — small government, fiscal conservatism, constitutional rights — staying consistent isn't a sacrifice, even if it means going against your own side.
People who oppose government overreach consistently, not just when it's convenient, are the ones actually protecting this country from itself.
I spent the last few months talking to people across the political spectrum, and to people who want nothing to do with politics at all. Here is what I learned.
We are not a divided country. We are a country being divided, on purpose, by an American oligarchy that profits from the fight. They’ve captured our government, denied our healthcare, looted our treasury, and saddled us with crippling debt.
I believe in a New New Deal. Healthcare as a human right. The right of every family to a decent home, and an end to endless wars.
And a dividend paid to every American from the AI economy, because these machines were built on the whole of human inheritance. That inheritance belongs to all of us, and not just to the handful of men playing God with our very existence.
And none of it happens if we just move on. Donald Trump, his family, and his administration are robbing us blind, not just of our money, but of our faith in one another, and they have to answer for it. Truth and reconciliation, not revenge. Then we break the system that let them do it.
The question is not whether we will lose our democracy. The question is whether we will fight to take back what has already been stolen.
I learned in recovery that you can’t heal what you won’t name. Neither can a country.
Yesterday, Karoline Leavitt, Trump’s Press Secretary, when asked if Trump will accept the results of the 2026 election, refused to say yes. She refused to say whether Trump will accept the results of this year’s election.
I’ve repeatedly called Donald Trump a traitor to this country and an enemy to this country. And I stand by that. Anyone who accepts election results only when they win, or only when their side wins, is in fact an enemy of our democracy. And they should be treated as such.
And I know deep down you ALL know this. I know deep down you ALL believe it’s wrong to accept election results only when your side wins. But I also know that most of you who support Trump won’t say that publicly because you won’t criticize your dear leader. And that’s such a shame.
Because like he did when he lost in 2020, again this year, if Republicans lose the House and/or the Senate, Trump will refuse to accept the results and, once again, he’ll scream “stolen election.” We all know that’s what he’s going to do. He’s already been signaling that that’s what he’s going to do.
A democracy ends when a people refuses to accept the will of the people every two years, when a people refuses to accept the results of elections they lose.
And btw, NONE of you raised your kids to be this way. NONE of you raised your kids to be sore losers. You ALL raised your kids to do their best, try as hard as they can, but if they lose the game or the match or the contest, they must accept the defeat graciously and congratulate the winning team. That’s how you were raised, and that’s how you raised your kids.
Donald Trump is the antithesis of that. In fact, you raised your kids to be the opposite of Trump.
Have a nice weekend.
“You mustn’t wish for another life. You mustn’t want to be somebody else. What you must do is this:
‘Rejoice evermore.
Pray without ceasing.
In everything give thanks.’
I am not all the way capable of so much, but those are the right instructions.” - Hannah Coulter, W. Berry
