@FLDadReborn One of the great joys of football is because it is a low scoring game there is always the potential of upsets. A poorer team on a good day might upset the odds against a good team on a bad day.
If you want high scores watch cricket (a game where you can also get draws).
@terrychelton@SandyofSuffolk I was there... and the fact that we can remember it 50 years later shows how remarkable it was.
Those sort of temperatures have become almost common place over the last decade.
@MatthewHavicon When I am on hholiday I am sat on a beach, under a parasol, mojito in hand, able to swim in the sea to cool off whenever I want, and retire to an air conditioned lounge, bar, restaurant or room.
None of those apply when I am at home and going to work.
@rec777777@BBCJustinR We remember it 50 years later, we get the headlines from the papers back then posted regularly, but "no one was bothered by it".
If it was so insignificant why is it so firmly etched in your memory?
@James220203 76 was unusual - that's why we remember it; it was an aberration.
There has been a pattern of hotter summers for a few years now.
You are either terminally stupid or engagement farming.
@PepperGii@ResidentOfSound Process to catch a train from city centre to city centre..
Walk to station, get on train, travel on train, get off train
By plane?
Taxi to airport, spend time going through security before waiting half an hour at the gate to board, fly to destination, get cab to city centre.
@Bobjstoneharbor@amelia_tweetz The FA Cup final - a game played in a country with a population of less than 60 million (England) gets a global audience around 3 times that of the Superbowl. The UEFA Superleague final around the same.
We like our football..
@faridadaly@joserra_espn@hevz06 FIFA aren't the creators of the sport - they are the international governing body. It was setup to arrange international games 40 years after the laws of the game were created... and it is well within the rights of organisations, fans, and players to protest against these breaks.
