In my view, the Communal Land Act urgently needs review and amendment. Citizens should not be discouraged from establishing rural homes in areas where they feel comfortable. The fact that my parents originate from Manicaland should not dictate where I settle. Every Zimbabwean ought to have the freedom to choose where to build a rural home, whether in Murewa or anywhere else. As a nation, we are not defined by tribal boundaries. History shows that our ancestors frequently migrated from place to place, thus, many of the rural areas we currently identify with are not strictly our ancestral roots.
