I built a gold trading algo. Now I'm taking it through a live E8 prop challenge β posting every trade, right here.
Most accounts only show their wins. I'll show everything β including the red days.
The rules it follows:
π― 1 trade/day, then it locks
βοΈ 1:2 risk-reward, always
π« no grid, no martingale
Goal: get funded β fully in public. Follow the journey π

I got tired of guessing whether my gold algo could actually pass a prop challenge.
So I coded a simulator: take every trading day across a 2-year backtest as a challenge start, then track each one to +10% (pass) or -10% drawdown (fail).
410 simulated challenges. The result:
84.63% pass rate. Average 51.6 days to pass.
Then I ran a completely separate Monte-Carlo as a sanity check β 83.7%. Two different methods, basically the same answer.
It's a backtest, not a promise. But this is the kind of homework I want to see before trusting any system.
Do you stress-test like this, or just trust the equity curve? π

3 weeks ago my E8 challenge was nearly 5% in the red. A few people asked if the EA was broken.
Today: +4.55%. π’
No changes. No panic. No revenge trades. The algo kept taking its setups and the profit factor (1.75) did the work.
A drawdown isn't failure β it's the cost of the edge. You just have to still be in the game when it turns.
17 trades in on XAUUSD, $50k account. Long way to go π#XAU #Algo #Trading #E8 #FTMO
This is what I'm doing for the next few months π
I built a gold trading algo. The backtest looked great β but a backtest isn't proof. So I put it on a live E8 prop challenge and I'm posting every single trade here. Wins and losses.
Follow along if you want to see whether it actually holds up.
@damibillions_ Honestly still early in figuring that out β but automating my trading is part of the answer. The goal isn't to grind charts till I die, it's to build a system that doesn't need me glued to a screen. Trading should buy freedom, not become the job.
@rugal_fx Couldn't agree more. I take exactly one a day β one setup, then my algo locks and I'm done. More trades almost never means more edge. It just means more chances to let emotion in.
