What's the dream Onboarding flow?
Every week we discuss community stuff at our "North Star Chats"
Here are our top 5 steps for the public community. Tell us what've missed?
1. Make a strong first impression of the community space with a video or web-based introduction. It's your chance to impress them and sell it - before they shift the attention somewhere else
2. Give new members short (24-48 hours from joining) and near-term (within first two weeks from joining) "tasks" to complete once they've joined.
Perceive it as "expectations" or what can you do here, how to contribute & engage
3. Frontload rewards for getting active and making receiving 'value' feel rewarding
Use roles, points, kudos, reach out personally
4. Get members involved and have someone jump on a private call with a new member within their first 2 weeks.
This is only possible for small groups of people. Otherwise try to engage with chat and maintain the CRM, if someone converts from the previous steps.
5. Evaluate new members' activity from their first two weeks, get some feedback, and nudge them.
If a CM won't review this - there is no retrospective and learnings. We believe it's a must-have cycle to iterate with

@RitaMkpado It's at least partly true and partly imposter syndrome. I always feel like the hallmark of expertise is time dedicated to theoretical and applied research. Contrast this with a professional who has worked and been paid for services related to that field. You research your field.
metal gear solid is my favorite video game story. mgs delta makes me mad, because
1) konami is a pachislot/gacha/gambling company
2) mgs3 is my favorite game in the series
3) kojima's name isn't all over it, meaning he's not allowed anywhere near it
