Jorrel Hato might already be becoming Chelsea’s best defender.

And I genuinely did NOT expect us to be saying this so quickly.

When he first came into the team, let’s be honest…

He looked shaky.

Still adapting.
Still settling.
Still finding his feet.

But these last few games?

Yeah… something has changed.

And yesterday summed it up perfectly.

Another mature performance and that late challenge on Maddison probably saved Chelsea the game.

What’s shocking me most is how calm he already looks.

For his age?

The positioning.
The confidence.
The maturity.

Honestly ridiculous.

I genuinely wasn’t expecting him to look THIS ready already.

And dare I say it…

He’s quietly starting to look like our best signing from Ajax in Chelsea history 👀

But now Xabi Alonso has a serious headache.

Because Hato is flourishing.

Colwill has looked solid again since returning.

And honestly?

Those two have probably been Chelsea’s best defenders recently.

So now I’m curious…

How exactly do you fit Hato, Colwill and a new CB into that defence?

Sometimes I forget that Hato is just 20 years old.

One of the best signings we’ve made in recent years.

Hato was solid again today. I think LCB in a back 3 is his best position without a doubt.

He can play in a back 4 as the LCB, but in a 3, it gives him more freedom to overlap, jump to press, and free to explore the game.

He's too talented as a footballer. He offers a lot.
