A week on Bluesky, a handful of posts, and I already surpassed my follower count here. I came here to see cool art and connect with fellow gamedevs. Twitter deteriorated into what is today, while Bluesky is exactly what I wanted. I’ll be inactive here from now on. Bye Twitter!

Unfortunately as of roday I won’t be active on twitter anymore. I wasn’t a big fan of all the recent changes lately, but scraping the entire platform for AI training is where I draw the line. It was a good run though, and this account will remain live so no references are lost 🧵
Looks like the entirety of game dev migrated to Blue Sky, for real this time. And I gotta say, the entire platform is a breath of fresh air, so glad this is happening! Also there’s video support now
@AnthonyAvonArt I get those annoying emails too, but it’s hilarious knowing that as a vfx artist I mostly post shit blowing up. Like literal explosions. Congrats on being “truly captivated by its beauty” and it “resonating with you on a personal level”, good luck hanging that in “your gallery”.
Why is this such a big deal for so many people all of the sudden? You don't own the software you buy, you buy a license to use it. Even physical media, you may own the physical container, but not the software on it. Software licensing has been around since the '70s.
@Rahll Wasn’t he super salty about his videos being scraped without his consent? I guess gen AI is fine if you’re on the other end, dude onky cares about money.
