You’ve already raised nearly $275,000 in just over three weeks to protect the stunning grasslands near Juniper Ridge! And there’s still time to make a lasting impact—this campaign ends Friday, March 14.
Listen to the powerful words of one generous donor, who's chosen to remain anonymous. She gave an incredible $50,000 with a simple but mighty wish: to protect these grasslands forever. She's spent years walking these peaceful trails, watching the seasons change, and feeling the deep connection between nature and all who rely on it. As she says, “Nature is what we need to be protecting, because it does nothing but give back to us.”
We hope her passion inspires you to join her in protecting this landscape and all the at-risk plants and animals who live here forever. Every contribution—no matter the size—will be doubled!
Don’t miss this chance to be part of this lifelong legacy. Give today: https://t.co/RjtWqCIaAk

FOREVER PROTECTED: 288-acres along the shoreline of Okanagan Lake! 🐟
When Colin Pritchard was growing up in the Okanagan, he was drawn to the Kokanee salmon. The Kelowna resident is so passionate about protecting the salmon, he recently donated to the protection of 288-acres of land near Westside Road.
But he didn’t stop there. He managed to convince two Kelowna residents, Gordon Baughen and Robin Durrant, who were part-owners to donate their interests in the land, making the whole deal possible.
“These wonderful people are absolute heroes,” says BC Parks Foundation CEO Andy Day. “This wouldn’t have happened without them, and now they have created a legacy that will benefit people, salmon and other species forever. It is another wonderful example of the power of British Columbians coming together to protect beautiful parts of our province.”

You can protect a rare natural treasure near Juniper Ridge! 🌲✨
This breathtaking 517-acre landscape east of Kamloops is home to rare grasslands, centuries-old trees, and vital habitat for species at risk. These grasslands support over 30% of BC's threatened species, yet they cover less than 1% of the province.
We’ve secured a purchase agreement and we’re raising $1 million through community crowdfunding to conserve this beautiful place by March 14. A generous donor has also agreed to match every dollar you donate!
Together, you can make history and ensure this extraordinary place remains protected for now, for all, for always. Please consider joining this effort by visiting https://t.co/RjtWqCIaAk 💚
JUST ANNOUNCED 🚨 The protection of Western Painted Turtles though the largest expansion of Rosebud Lake Regional Park in its 30-year history, expanding the park from 16 hectares to more than 80. That’s five times its current size!
This expansion brings much of the lake’s shoreline into the regional park. The shoreline and the upland leading into it are crucial for Western Painted Turtles, which make their home in this part of British Columbia and are the only native freshwater turtle species in BC.
“We purchased this land and protected vulnerable nesting sites to give the Western Painted Turtles a better chance of hatching and surviving to adulthood. This announcement reflects our community’s commitment to provide opportunities for people to enjoy BC while conserving the incredible diversity of other species that also live here.” - Andy Day, CEO, BC Parks Foundation

It is an incredible honour to win two @JackWebsterFdn awards tonight. Covering the new law restricting those who commit crimes from changing their names and the 2023 fires were both deeply moving and career changing for me. #bcpoli
