@wazaroff Tragic and wholly preventable cases like this come to mind. https://t.co/rOgDU4m63d.
Landlords like this should not be allowed to manage rental properties.
Having been apartment hunting lately I know there are many unreported cases like this where tenants feel trapped.
@wazaroff Mamdani has vowed to make aggressive crackdowns on bad landlords, including seizing and transferring property from bad actors to tenants / the city.
Does Vancouver's charter allow for similar actions, and if so, would you commit to using them?

Get some.
I played this game so much as a kid and I don't even know where I got it.
It's a little clunky, but a lot of fun and really charming.
Underrated battle multiplayer as well!
I have a couple of commission slots open, so if youโre looking for a character designer please hit me up! as usual RTs are greatly appreciated โค๏ธ
@r_weik@vancolour@CHEK_News This is what already happened in British Columbia.
Unnceeded territory colonized, racialized populations forced out of their homes and land, violence, oppression, no vote...
Reconciliation is an effort to undo some of the harm caused by that violent colonialism and apartheid

The government should be protecting our public airports, not selling them off for parts.
History is littered with examples of the failures of privatization.
It drives up costs for the public, quality suffers, and workers always end up paying the price.
@tiredofcons1978@GlobalBC The government isn't forcing you to rent out your basement suite either.
Also, this proposal wouldn't apply to your hypothetical basement suite.
