@monnef This has been very fascinating for me. I cannot overstate that fact. However, I do not wish to continue this discussion. Thank you for your time and for permission to share. I wish you well.
@monnef 3. The environmental cost of humans exists whether we make art or not.
4. Saying someone's job *should* be a hobby is really icky.
Mind if I share this chat with people on Discord? I'll let you share my part if you censor my handle (this account is connected to my real name)
@monnef 1. Gen AI would have nothing to train on without a LOT of human art, so the human cost is still present
2. As long as new gen AI programs are being developed, that aspect of the cost will not go away, even if Banana doesn't contribute to that
@AaronThaPhoenix @schizoslvtgay @ZyMazza lol it's fine. I wouldn't have pointed it out if it was consistent throughout the image, or even just her outline.
What you said explains where the program maybe got that detail from.
@AaronThaPhoenix @schizoslvtgay @ZyMazza Oh, okay, that makes sense. Now that I'm looking again, the actual eyebrows aren't that bad, either. It's just a stylistic choice I haven't seen before, reducing the eyebrow to just a line when it's obscured by hair.
Why's her boob glowing tho
@AaronThaPhoenix @schizoslvtgay @ZyMazza The woman has two pairs of eyebrows: one directly above her glasses and the other higher up. Also, one of those many eyebrows is drawn in a different style from the others: it's big and thick (lol). These details don't make sense in this context.
@monnef I'm pretty sure gen AI is a lot worse for the environment than common physical art mediums or even a tablet, but you mentioned video games in another comment and you might be right about that one based on what I found :(
@monnef Two years is a long time for the digital side of the models, not for the physical technology. The energy-intensive physical data centers from 2023 still exist and are likely still in use, since companies wouldn't abandon such an investment so quickly.

Gen AI IS energy-intensive.
Also, why'd you even bring up money? I said nothing about that. I don't care how much money it costs you.
@monnef We were talking about image gen. ChatGPT is best known as a text gen, which I imagine is less energy-intensive than image gen. That would bring down the energy-use in the average ChatGPT prompt compared to the average Banana prompt.
@sugarsmorecake I don't understand why you responded to an MJ birthday post with this video, but thank you very much for creeping me out. Great audio. 10/10. Not being sarcastic.
You commission a human for a specific picture. It's your property, but you are not the artist. The human is.
You prompt a #GenAI program for a specific picture. You claim that as your property (idk the laws on that), but you're still not the artist. The AI program is.
@Ghostrider768@SomeLeftyTroll@JoJoFromJerz@ChayaRaichik10 Puberty blockers aren't unhealthy. All they do is tell the body to suspend the release of puberty hormones. Once the treatment is stopped, puberty resumes.
They have potential side effects, but so does every other medicine.
@Ghostrider768@SomeLeftyTroll@JoJoFromJerz@ChayaRaichik10 Btw, trans advocates don't want kids to have access to intensive surgery. We want kids to have access to temporary puberty blockers. What you're effectively arguing for is forcing kids to start puberty before they're ready.
@Ghostrider768@SomeLeftyTroll@JoJoFromJerz@ChayaRaichik10 Have you looked at all his bills or are you just believing the absolutely insane claim that he wants to medically maim children? It's up to you to prove that claim to us, not the other way around.
@NianticHelp #ThisOreThatCollectionChallenge
I have evolved multiple Magnezone, but this challenge won't show as completed. Video for proof of glitch. I also refreshed the app, but it still won't update.
