A federal grand jury in Boise just indicted Fredy Avila Gomez, an illegal alien from Mexico, on a stack of charges that should light this country up. Then he allegedly used that fake identity to grab a U.S. passport, Medicaid benefits, and a firearm. He also allegedly registered as a citizen and voted in May 2022 and again in November 2024.

Letitia James is still holding about $19 million from the sale of a property owned by an order of Catholic nuns.

The Sisters of Divine Providence ran a safe, affordable residence for women in Manhattan for 123 years. As their order aged and shrank, they sold the building for $22.5 million. New York law required approval of the sale. James approved it, but more than two years later, the remaining $19.3 million still hasn't been released.

Their lawyer says the sisters want to use the money to care for aging members in Kentucky and continue their other charitable ministries. New York officials objected, arguing those aren't close enough to the charitable purpose the Manhattan residence originally served.

They spent 123 years caring for others. Now they're fighting New York to get $19.3 million from the sale of their own property released.
