Remembering WAAF 107.3, arguably the last great rock station in the Boston market, which signed off the local airwaves 5 years ago this evening, February 21, 2020.

• The final song played by WAAF was "Black Sabbath" by Black Sabbath which was the first song played when WAAF switched to rock format on March 16, 1970.

• In August 2009, WAAF became the longest-running Boston rocker when CBS Radio ended WBCN’s 41-year run to allow Mix 98.5 to move from 98.5 to 104.1.
