@DustyBottoms04@THEEIowaStateU All jokes aside, that was a 94-year old stadium that burned completely to the ground because of a cowardly act of arson.
@galvatron261@ClayTravis I’m okay with 12 teams if we can have 1 rating metric or formula to determine the best 12 teams.
After eliminating the committee, the 2nd best option would be full disclosure of the ‘discussions’ on how teams are ranked.
Based on the current #CFPRankings , here is how the bracket would look if the p4 got 4 spots
16. ACC 4th
1. Ohio St
9. BYU
8. Oklahoma
13. Virginia
4. Texas Tech
12USC
5. Oregon
11. Utah
6 Ole Miss
14.Arizona
3. Georgia
10. Miami
7. Tx A&M
15. Georgia Tech
2. Indiana
If the national championship was defended every week, the current champion would be Florida.
Michigan was the champion until they got beat by Texas, who lost to Georgia, who lost to Ole Miss.
Florida’s win over Ole Miss means they are the champions until someone beats them.
@DavidEickholt I guess it all depends on how you define success. If 10 is a national championship, I’d give it a 7.
8-4 is exactly where I had them finishing.
@HawkeyeBBFan I had this one as a loss back in preseason because of Iowa’s struggles on the west coast and against ranked teams.
So my expectations are low but IF somehow….
@TheRickWebster This feels the Indiana game. 4-5 plays (like Wetjen’s fumble or the bad long snap) is the difference.
I know it’s a counterfactual but if Wetjen doesn’t fumble there, you probably put 3 on the board. Oregon would have needed a TD to win.
