I've written a blog for @AHPWorkforce Newsletter, expanding the ideas about intersectionality and dietetics for a broader allied health workforce. Hoping to stimulate dialogue about 'who' is allied health... and how to be more inclusive and diverse -

Cultural “competence” is a complex word as it creates the impression that you can be trained in cultural competence and you will come out culturally competent. It begins with brutal honesty with ourselves! @aburt_b#DA2023
Hello! We are a group of ECRs in qualitative health research, trying to support each other and build networks - would you like to join us? You'd be welcome... follow and watch this space
Anyone choosing to refer to the First Nations Voice to Parliament as ‘the Canberra Voice’ or ‘Anthony Albanese’s Voice’ is doing a profound disservice to every single Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander person who has given of themselves to get us to this point. It’s obscene.
@emmawhatman This is wonderful to see!
I'd love to know about this next time so I could join in, wondering of you let me know who to follow on twitter (or other networks) so I'm more in the loop next time?
@NehaDietitian@dietitiansaus I love this call out @NehaDietitian! I'm happy to go first 🙈 Well, I'm a Palestinian-Australian Muslim APD and I work with people who have home feeding tubes. I love what I do and love watching the tectonic plates of Aussie dietetics moving rapidly towards embracing diversity.
It’s @dietitiansaus Dietitians Week! I would like to take the opportunity to connect with Dietitians from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds.

@AHPWorkforce@AHPDiversity Allied health can critically dismantle the structures in healthcare that perpetuate inequalities of 'who' is in our profession, just as one idea!
@feemck@JSP_Journal @Rebecca_L_L @DeakinIPAN@IHT_Deakin Yes!! I've been discussing this topic informally with students for years as critical thinking exercise... wonderful to have your blog and paper to demonstrate!
@KayWheel712@LLLGB Absolutely water and snacks, but like a litre of water, not just a glass. And please put on a coffee table that I can reach without disturbing the breastfeeding baby. And the TV remote and my phone within reach too please. And then burp baby for me while I go to the loo!
First Nations Peoples experience racism & discrimination, it’s true extent is not understood. ‘Calling out’ racism on this register, helps to tell the true story of racism in this country. Support the fight against racism and protect future generations. https://t.co/c36pLx7NnF
The Taliban have announced that as the new academic year for universities begins on 6th March, it will be ONLY FOR MEN.
Afghanistan is the only country in the world where women are BANNED from university.
This is a clear violation of basic human rights. Please speak up 📣
#Ramadan is < a month away! Thank you to the @IslamicMuseum for supporting me with this project. While #hometubefeeding takes up most of my professional energy and passion, Ramadan is a time of the year that is close to my heart. I hope this resource proves helpful!
To break a community, take the children. They've never stopped. NSW spends $713,940/child/year to lock up kids as young as 10. Imagine if they spent that on family support? Add your name: #RaiseTheAge https://t.co/62VSedHl6f
Thread 1/5 I just attended the 2023 Lancet Series on Breastfeeding – Australasia & Pacific Launch Event. LIVE. Nothing short of I.N.C.R.E.D.I.B.L.E.
