@DeanD_LU Congratulations!! Your words of encouragement and your amazing teaching style had such a huge impact on my decision to pursue a PhD- this is a big loss for LU and Sudbury in general but such an amazing gain for MSVU! Thank you for everything and good luck in all you do!! 😁😁

5/5 Lastly- did you say yes to all of the above but don't live in Ontario?!? That's okay! We have sites all across the country! Reach out to me and we can discuss how you can apply from wherever you are situated in the country! 😉 #WorkFromHomeJobs@hdrn_rrds#DataScienceWarrior
1/5 Have you been looking for the perfect opportunity to work with me to advance Indigenous Data Sovereignty in health data research in Canada? Are you Indigenous and/or do you have extensive connections to Indigenous communities and experience working with Indigenous partners?
4/5 Then do I have the job for you! I'm still looking for a "research assistant" (a very formal title for the Indigenous Data Science Warrior I'm really looking for) I encourage you to reach out to me for more info & apply soon if you're interested⬇️ https://t.co/HFIGiE3NMI
@gomezdmax For sure- I’ve been teaching sessionally online for about 6 years and what I’ve learned through the pandemic is that it’s totally possible to do it well. Offering remote classes also increases enrolment for students who want to attend university and stay in their communities 😍
Hey, society— How close are we to offering fully-remote full professor positions to highly trained and experienced Indigenous scholars who choose to stay close to their communities, relationships, and research by not moving to a big city? #askingformyself#decolonizeinstitutions
@frankofthenorth Oh wow! That’s amazing! Universities in Canada willing to hire tenure-track faculty remotely are few and far between 🦄 but I’m staying hopeful!
@native4data Me too! It boggles my mind that settler society can’t understand that institutional goals to “reconcile”, “decolonize”, and “build Indigenous capacity” mean nothing if accommodations for remoteness are impossible. I guess we can only #decolonize on #settler terms.
@ABCole25 100% recommend an ergonomic split keyboard and mouse with the roller for the cursor- with a cushioned mousepad and wrist rest. I thought it was ridiculous but it’s saving me from so much pain.. more than the standing desk and the bazillion dollar chair ever have. 😁
I feel this @BiidasageKwe - I get stressed out if my hubby takes the receipt and stuffs it in a pocket (he doesn’t have that “overthink everything” thing I have).
I need it in my hand. Like a white flag of proof- “I bought this” 🏳 #Colonialism#Discrimination
When I go into stores and they ask if you want a receipt…Yes! I’m Nish in the city. A lot can happen from the cashier to the parking lot. Y’all be thinking I stole it. I’d rather have the receipt on me than emailed or not have it at all.
