Rock Road Library Friends in Cambridge aims to support the local library, organise extra activities and events at the library and develop the library garden.
Prayer flags are up at Rock Road Library, #Cambridge to draw attention to two events. There is now a #Nepal#photoexhibition in the library community room and tomorrow 9th Feb at 7pm Simon Howarth with give an illustrated talk about his engineering work in Nepal. Free entry.
Engineer Simon Howarth talks on recovering from disasters & building resilience to climate change. Simon has worked for almost 20y in #Nepal, including leading a project to help recovery after devastating earthquakes. Thursd 9th Feb 7pm for 7.15 start. Free entry, refreshments.

Our next film viewing as part of season five of the film club is 'A Fantastic Woman.' Directed by Sebastiรกn Lelio, it is an award-winning story of Marina, a transgender woman who works as a waitress and moonlights as a nightclub singer.
Her world is blown apart by the sudden death of her partner and his familyโs determination to exclude her from his funeral and their lives. The showing will take place at 7pm (doors open at 6.30pm) on Wednesday 27th February at the library.
The doors open at 6.30pm where the film will commence at 7pm. You can just come along on the night but you can reserve a place by emailing: [email protected] Your suggestions for future films are always welcome.

The FRRL are delighted to announce season 5 of the 'Film Club' has arrived! Our first showing, on Wednesday 23rd January, is Ken Loachโs classic 1969 film โKes'.
We also have some great news regarding new year Film Club prices:
ยฃ12 (FRRL members) /ยฃ15 (non FRRL members) for 3 films (pay in advance at the first screening) or
ยฃ5 (ยฃ4 students, unwaged) for each film on the door.

This Friday our speedy AGM will take place at 7.10 pm with a brief overview of the year. Don't forget that if you are tempted to join our jolly band of Trustees, please do e-mail us ([email protected]) for an informal chat.
The annual FRRL Christmas party for members will take place from 7.30pm until around 9pm. Highlights include a light-hearted quiz, music and merriment! Nothing in the programme is unsuitable for children who would be most welcome.
From 4.00 p.m on Friday (30th Nov), there will be a craft session (materials provided) in the Community Room. We will be making a variety of tree decorations! The decorations can be taken home or to the decorating event on Wulfstan Way this Sunday (2nd Dec). All ages welcome!
