@Wimbledon My mother died on Saturday from Alzheimer's and I wanted to give my ticket to my dad so he could go to men's semis with my brother but it seems I can't do that. An appeal to your customer service team resulted in a brick wall. They deserve a treat, anything I can do?
@AXS_UK Done all that. Every single time. Still doesn't bloody work. Clearly I have to work out how to be an actual bot because that's the only way to get tickets from you.
@lillai23@idlewildgirl Cloyingly sweet? My mother passed away on Saturday from Alzheimer's after the shittiest, most awful, cruelest, long drawn out decline of which she suffered every moment. There was fuck all cloyingly sweet about that I can tell you.
@Wimbledon Great. Except I can't use the tickets I got in the ballot (my first ever success) and paid a fortune for because of your absolute unwillingness to bend in extenuating circumstances. So thanks for that.
@ChrisWhiteley2 I lost my mum to Alzheimer's this morning. Another absolute bastard of a disease. Agree, live your life the way you want and do no harm. That's the best we can do.
@linmeitalks I was going to tell you about my mother currently taking her last breaths in a room that's close to 40ยฐ despite fans and an air con unit but actually, you know what, just fuck off. Hope that helps.
@lltbr123@_CatintheHat Our kids haven't been doing a lot of learning. It's also the time of year when they're rehearsing plays, concerts etc so the emphasis has been on keeping as cool as possible and having a little fun and low stress. The parents are the ones desperate for us to close.
@babybeginner He needs to stop going to all those restaurants that offend him so much. He's clearing scoffing the food before he storms off with the hump.
@Grievezy Yes. My mother is on end of life care with Alzheimer's and this is the worst period of my 54 years. I'm on the verge of a breakdown but us carers are invisible, especially those of us still with youngish families and full time jobs. And that's without watching someone fade away
@Karen31332753@FellBound Oh Karen. Sweet Karen. Who clearly knows fuck all about schools or she'd know that teachers hold no power in schools and all decisions are made at SLT level. Our kids went home at lunchtime today. The school staff didn't and were, in fact, there till 7 due to a big parent event
@MhHoban So why was my school office phone rung off the hook and emails piling in from parents yesterday complaining because we weren't shutting the school? Tell me again who we're feeling sorry for? Because the staff were all there and getting on with it. The parents wanted it shut.
@DeputyGrocott I know. It'd be hilarious if these people weren't so thick. Teachers have zero powers in schools. Half our kids went home early today. Guess who didn't? The teachers and the office staff. But that doesn't fit their narrative.
@1974JCS This pressure to close is largely coming from the parents. We have a new building, reasonably cool. Classrooms are hellholes but other spaces to spread out in. We were bombarded yesterday with parents complaining that we're weren't shut. So today we closed early ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ
