¿Se puede bautizar a un niño de una pareja homosexual?
(tema polémico, pero quizás pueda servir el criterio).

Aprovecho una consulta que me hicieron sobre el tema.
El caso es el de dos mujeres, una de ellas madre biológica de una niña, que vive su lesbianismo de modo público. Pide el bautismo de su niña.
¿Se la puede bautizar o no?
Respuesta breve:

La niña no tiene la culpa de nada; sin embargo, el Código de Derecho Canónico dice claramente que, para bautizar lícitamente a un niño, se requiere "que haya esperanza fundada de que el niño va a ser educado en la religión católica; si falta por completo esa esperanza, debe diferirse el bautismo, según las disposiciones del derecho particular, haciendo saber la razón a sus padres" (Canon 868 § 2).

Dos mujeres que viven su lesbianismo de modo público, teniendo relaciones y sin el menor indicio de querer cambiar de vida, no parecieran estar dando "esa esperanza fundada de que el niño va a ser educado en la religión católica"; no porque no tengan Fe, sino porque no parecen estar unidas a Dios por la Caridad ("si me amáis, guardad mis mandamientos", dice el Señor Jesús en Jn 14,15).
Por esto: ¿qué le dirán a la niña cuando crezca y pregunte por el sexto mandamiento? ¿y sobre que Dios nos creó hombre y mujer?(Gén 1,27) ¿y sobre la homosexualidad? (Rom 1,24, Catecismo n. 2357).

Ahora: si ellas reconocen que no están viviendo bien su vida cristiana pero desean educar a esa niña en la Fe católica, buscando una vida de coherencia evangélica (solo una de ellas será la madre y la otra sólo una amiga que ayudará, viviendo en castidad), entonces no veo mayor inconveniente; pero eso exige que deseen convertirse, para lo cual es necesario predicarles el Evangelio que, quizás, no conocen bien o conocen incompletamente.
Alguno podrá objetar diciendo: "pero esa misma rigurosidad no se les impone a las parejas heterosexuales que viven en concubinato"; y es cierto, pero hay una diferencia: fornicarios, adúlteros o concubinarios, también cometen pecado mortal, pero no van contra la Ley natural (Catecismo 2357).

Quizás sea una excelente oportunidad para poder evangelizar a estas personas que, aún erradas, han querido el bautismo de esa pequeña.
Pero recuerden: la primera caridad es decir la verdad que libera (Jn 8,31).
