🪞 Fed Chair Kevin Warsh highlighted what he calls the “hall of mirrors problem” in monetary policy.
“If markets rely materially on the Fed’s guidance and the Fed relies on market prices,” Warsh said at Jackson Hole, “we’re more likely to be blinded to new developments, more likely to be caught unprepared, and more likely to commit errors in policymaking.”
His message: the Fed needs to avoid becoming overly dependent on market signals that may themselves be shaped by Fed guidance.
🚨 Fed Chair Kevin Warsh signaled that higher interest rates may be necessary if inflation remains elevated.
The comments mark his first substantive remarks on the economy since becoming Fed Chair, according to Reuters reporter Ann Saphir.
Warsh emphasized the need to keep inflation under control, suggesting the Fed remains prepared to adjust policy if price pressures fail to ease sufficiently.📊
🚀 Starlink’s next-generation Wi-Fi 7 router is getting closer to launch.
The new hardware has been spotted in Starlink’s app code, following FCC equipment authorization earlier this month.
• Wi-Fi 7 on 2.4GHz & 5GHz
• Up to 160MHz channels
• 2 Ethernet ports
• USB-C
• Power over Ethernet support
Starlink has yet to announce pricing, availability or a launch date.
The next upgrade to the Starlink home networking experience could be coming soon. 📡
🚨 $MSFT & $GOOGL were both reportedly in talks to rent capacity at Nscale’s West Virginia Monarch campus before the 460MW lease went to Anthropic for $45B.
$MSFT walked away during a data center portfolio review, while $GOOGL backed off after reassessing its compute needs and capex.
Now Anthropic has locked up one of the largest AI infrastructure deals ever.
Fed Chair Kevin Warsh’s Jackson Hole message was focused on inflation and patience:
• Inflation remains too high, with prices the Fed’s predominant focus
• The 2% PCE target remains “firm and fixed”
• Recent inflation data improved, but underlying trends have not meaningfully changed
• More work is needed unless inflation returns to target clearly and at sufficient speed
• Labor markets remain stable and consistent with full employment
• Broad financial conditions are not restrictive
• A “good majority” favored waiting before changing rates in July
Overall, Warsh’s remarks point to a Fed that remains cautious about easing while inflation is still above target.
SoftBank is reportedly planning to have nearly $65B invested in OpenAI by October.
The company is also seeking another $10B loan to help fund its stake, just 22 days after closing a separate $10B facility.
SoftBank is simultaneously working to refinance a $40B bridge loan due by March 2027, highlighting the scale of its OpenAI investment strategy.
Fed Chair Warsh says he’d be “hard-pressed” to call financial conditions restrictive as the economy strengthens and credit shows few signs of tightening.
With inflation still “more concerning,” the Fed’s decision to hold rates in July increasingly looks like a signal of continued patience on rate cuts.
The message to markets: don’t expect aggressive easing while growth remains resilient and inflation stays sticky. 📈
$AAPL is raising Apple TV prices in the U.S. starting today. 📺
Monthly: $14.99 → $12.99
Annual: $119 → $99
Apple One Individual: $21.95 → $19.95
This marks Apple TV’s 4th price increase in just 4 years.
The monthly price is now 3× its original $4.99 launch price.
Apple is steadily turning its services business into an even bigger revenue engine. 🍎
$META is testing robots from ABB and other robotics companies to handle tasks like swapping cables and resetting servers inside its data centers.
The goal: automate repetitive maintenance work, reduce labor costs, and keep AI infrastructure running with less human intervention.
If successful, data center robotics could become a major part of the next wave of AI infrastructure automation. 🤖
🚨 The U.S. dollar is on track for its biggest weekly gain in nearly a month, rising as much as 0.3%.
🔥 Hotter-than-expected inflation data is fueling bets that the Federal Reserve could hike interest rates again by year-end.
Higher-for-longer rate expectations are giving the dollar another boost as markets reassess the Fed’s path. 💵📈
$SK Hynix $SKHY is building a $4B HBM packaging facility in Indiana, with mass production targeted for H2 2029. 🇺🇸
The move comes as $MU ramps up major U.S. memory expansion, including 2 fabs in Idaho and up to 4 fabs in New York, as part of more than $250B in planned U.S. investment through 2035.
The AI infrastructure buildout is increasingly becoming a U.S. memory and semiconductor manufacturing race. 🏭🤖
🚨 $CRM & Anthropic launch “Claudeforce”
Salesforce and Anthropic are expanding their partnership with Claudeforce, a new Claude integration that lets sales teams access Salesforce data and take actions directly inside Claude.
It launches with 37 pre-built sales skills, including:
• Drafting emails
• Updating CRM records
• Working with Salesforce data
• Executing sales workflows
Claudeforce is currently available to select pilot customers, with a broader preview planned for next month.
More Salesforce and Slack integrations are also coming later this year. 🤖
AI agents are moving from answering questions to actually taking action inside enterprise workflows.
🚨 $NVDA is making every gigawatt of AI power dramatically more valuable.
NVIDIA’s estimated revenue opportunity per gigawatt is rising with each new platform:
• Hopper: ~$18B/GW
• Grace Blackwell: ~$25B/GW
• Vera Rubin: ~$40B/GW
As power becomes the next major bottleneck for AI infrastructure, NVIDIA is packing significantly more compute — and revenue potential — into every available gigawatt.
The AI race is increasingly becoming a race for power. ⚡️🤖
🚨 $NVDA and $AMZN are deepening their AI partnership.
AWS is set to deploy 2 MILLION more Nvidia GPUs through Q2 FY29, plus another 100,000 GPUs for secure U.S. government data centers.
And AWS is going deeper into Nvidia’s stack beyond GPUs, adopting technologies including:
• Vera
• Nemotron
• Omniverse
• Cosmos
• Isaac
• Jetson
The partnership is expanding across AI infrastructure, cloud, government workloads and robotics. 🤖🚀
🚨 Anthropic is locking in another massive block of AI infrastructure.
The company plans to lease a $45B Nscale data center in West Virginia, backed by 460 MW of power.
Nscale is expected to spend roughly $71B developing the site as demand for frontier AI continues to drive massive investment into data centers, chips and power.
The AI infrastructure race is becoming a race for electricity and compute capacity. ⚡️🤖
🚨 Bitcoin can now help you buy a home with $0 cash down in America.
Coinbase and mortgage lender Better have opened their Fannie Mae-backed mortgage program to qualified U.S. buyers, allowing Bitcoin to be pledged toward the down payment instead of sold.
The structure requires Bitcoin worth 250% of the down payment to be locked up, with the BTC returned once the mortgage is fully repaid.
Even more notable: a Bitcoin price decline alone does not trigger a margin call.🏠₿
🚕 Tesla’s Cybercab is getting a smart pickup feature.
Tesla is using an RGB light bar on the front that can change colors so riders can easily identify which Cybercab is picking them up.
So far, we’ve seen purple, green and orange. 🟣🟢🟠
A simple touch, but an important piece of making autonomous rides feel seamless in the real world.
