🍔IT'S HERE!🍔
New Meat has launched on Steam! It was a long road to get here but it's finally arrived! Come play one of the most unique, story-focused indie roguelites you'll find this year!
Please share! Let's get the word out! (Link below)
If any other studio had made this game, I'd be over the moon, but I have...expectations of IOI and I can't help that fact.
They made a great game that makes you feel like James Bond, but only IOI could have made a game that makes you THINK like James Bond, and this isn't it.
I have such mixed feelings about First Light.
It easily clears every James Bond game ever in terms of being a playable Bond movie. As a Bond fan, it's literally everything I've wanted for 30 years.
But as a gamer...I just can't shake the feeling I'm playing "Hitman Ultra-Lite."
The game just constantly wants to do all your thinking for you. It has the mechanics and appearance of a Hitman game but it only ever wants you to turn your brain off and follow the waypoints. Even when problems have multiple solutions, it's just multiple paths of waypoints.
I was wondering why the dragon was the only decent looking thing in this scene and it's BECAUSE IT WAS 3D IN THE FIRST PLACE! It was ACTUALLY DESIGNED for it by a DESIGNER!
Like...what IS even the point?
Man, what a memorable sequence in the history of gaming. Do you wish it was 3% harder to see what's happening for no appreciable benefit? Well do we have a game for you.
If there is one studio who isn't going to get out of the way of GTA VI in November, it's Nintendo.
They didn't with GTA V. They had a big first party release three days after.
GTA VI isn't coming to Switch 2 (at least at launch), so I don't think Nintendo will work around it.
Okay, watching State of Play.
The Wolverine trailer really makes me miss the live conferences, because E3 audiences getting uncomfortably excited about brutal violence was one of my favorite things each year.
'Cause I was right there with 'em. This rules. Day one purchase.
@mariotwtconfess Exact opposite, actually. After Galaxy 2, I'd said "That was amazing, but I'd like something more grounded next time," and 3D World was...like...exactly the game I was picturing.
Really, it was just what I wanted at that moment in the series.
I'm becoming convinced that Nintendo charged $80 for Mario Kart World specifically so they could keep charging people $50 for Mario Kart World and it would look like a bigger discount.
“They’re making it look more modern.”
THEY’RE MAKING IT LOOK LIKE FUCKING TRINE! There’s nothing modern about this! Games have been able to look like this for 15 years!
@SaladBarr006 The exception being anything involving the mystery man, which seems to be direct interference with reality as Darkners experience it.
So it’s like the mystery man is directly talking to the concepts of things. No wonder he seems to be breaking reality.
@SaladBarr006 I think that just like Darkners’ bodies are exaggerations of how Lightners see them, Darkners’ memories are exaggerations of how Lightners remember them.
Like, every Darkner’s backstory is a fantastical version of something that physical object did or meant to someone.
@severeerror52 It’s easy to forget what a culture hub the Something Awful forums were around 2010. Lots of indie games were adding forum memes just because their devs were regulars,
Olive oil, salt, pepper.
Have it alongside something flavorful but less filling, like roasted asparagus, and that’s a perfectly great dinner. For cheap, too (if asparagus is in-season).
Used to have it all the time before I started cutting down on gluten.
