I’ve never been a salary cap fan. I think it rewards bad owners. However, we’ve officially reached the point where entire fan bases are going to give up hope and stop watching baseball. Something has to change. If you are the Reds, Rockies, Pirates, Rays, etc., why try?
@303FAN Correct. I think fans finally hit a breaking point over the past two years. Literally no reason to watch or root for this team. The only thing worse than negativity is apathy, and Rockies fans became extremely apathetic. Everyone I know quit caring at all.
The #Rockies deserve every ounce of criticism they receive. However, it seems like ownership has turned the page and is allowing people who actually understand baseball to run the show. Huge step in the right direction.
The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have hired Alon Leichman as the club's Major League pitching coach, Gabe Ribas as the assistant pitching coach, Matt Buschmann as the bullpen coach and Matt Daniels as the organization's director of pitching.
This is such a great article. Well said and proof of everything the true fans always said about the #Rockies.
Finally, change has arrived for baseball fans in Colorado. Even if this new regime doesn’t work, at least it’s the start of doing something different.
After years of stubborn stasis, the Rockies are finally embracing change.
But how did things get so bad in the first place?
“The entire operating model was do what we tell you to do, be loyal. We don't even care if you're competent.”

@ADill15 Correct! Why rush to hire a manager when you aren’t going to win anyway. The club seemed to respond well to him. If he isn’t the right fit, it gives the new front office a full year to find their guy.
