Andor is not that good. It’s better than the vast majority of the slop Disney has put out, but it’s still mid at best. Like a 5/10. Not bad, but nothing groundbreaking or innovative. Not something I would say the average fan is going to like.

It at least had a serviceable plot with a few interesting characters and it didn’t do anything offensively bad like damaging a legacy character or do any massive damage to the continuity. I did particularly like the prison escape arc and that one torture method using recordings of aliens. Also that guy Luthen (I had to look up his name btw) was a pretty interesting character. Those were definitely some cool additions, but overall it’s pretty forgettable. I honestly couldn’t be bothered to watch season two. There’s plenty of other things I’d rather spend my time watching. Maybe I would, if my one friend who likes Andor were to convince me to continue watching it.

That’s not Star Wars “being fine.” All that proves is that the puppet still keeps middle aged women engaged. That has never been the target demographic and if they continue to pander to adult women, the brand will inevitably implode on itself, because they don’t actually care about Star Wars. They care about the cute puppet that makes baby noises.

If Disney were to market Star Wars at the demographic it was always intended for, which is 12 year old boys, then they would actually have a chance at turning the ship around. That don’t mean women aren’t allowed to enjoy Star Wars. It just means that the stories aren’t supposed to be specifically for them. That model worked for 30 years and there’s no reason why it wouldn’t have continued to work.

My great grandmother had at least one child at or after 40. She also had nearly a dozen kids total and she lived into her 90s if I’m not mistaken. And she had all of these kids before 1950. So don’t give me that crap about 40 year olds can’t have children. Sure there’s increased risk for both the mother and child, but it isn’t a death sentence and we have insane medical technology these days.
