Not a common practice in the Mass-production or the "big box" rifle world. Here @Rockopdefense we use this mostly overlooked, forgotten, and largely underestimated technique of staking the grub set screws of our gas blocks in some of our builds. Not only do we stake these, but the screws themselves are knurled which allows them to bite into the barrel! We dont stop there! Additionally, we double-dimple our barrels here in-house to ensure a nice home for those little grubs to live!

This is one of many proven techniques that we use to secure our gas blocks! We also do cross-pinning which involves drilling the gas block and barrel while they are joined at the journal and driving a 420 HD stainless coil pin through both in order to create what is called a "bullet proof" install.
