@bobbyfijan Also, “good district” is a useless metric for evaluating the fit between your kids and their schools. Congratulations, you chose to move somewhere where most people make sure their kids graduate high school?
@AswetiMattias@Lincs_Wheelman@Boenau I’m sure there are a few sensible bike commuting routes in nyc. Unrelated to cycling: the density of crazy people in nyc is nearly a dealbreaker in itself. I live under 90 minutes from the city and haven’t had an urge to visit since 2020.
@AswetiMattias@Lincs_Wheelman@Boenau The capitol beltway has about .75 MM cars daily. I think 3,000 bikes is a niche.
There’s nothing wrong with a niche as long as you understand most people want nothing to do with it.
@Boenau I work from home 95% so that’s a silly thing to say
The people I know who have biked to work gave it up after a few months due to heat, cold, or (I know everyone is shocked) crazy cyclists on their route.
@rossiadam Likewise HOAs and their invisible tax
In Fairfax, my neighborhood was one of the few in the area without an HOA and as a result we were the only neighborhood with neighbors parking commercial vans/trailers.
My fellow Americans, if he has a work truck, he’s employed!
