@freewilllyyyy@KVanValkenburg Oh give me a break. Now we are complaining that he found a drive that he pulled into the fescue? Is there anything that doesn’t irk you?
@3jackbandit@KVanValkenburg Wyndham wasn’t the only guy on the golf course Thursday evening. Lots of other guys had a chance to seize an opportunity.
If he wins by 3+, wave split is irrelevant. Like him or not, he’s gone and gotten it thriugh 54. He didn’t build a 6 shot lead on the back 9 Thursday
@freewilllyyyy@usopengolf 1. Congrats
2. Why would he want to “use his presence” to make Wyndham feel good via a phone call with Brandel? The club voiced their displeasure with Wyndham shortly after last year’s tournament, why say they’re past it if they’re not?
@freewilllyyyy@usopengolf The message from some pearl clutching fans like yourself, sure. But many golf fans at large can appreciate a flawed champ. There are several examples. If Wyndham damaging a locker is suspendable, you must think Tiger shouldn’t have played a major since the 2009 accident, right?
@sportsinfive Rahm has one at Torrey (shouldn’t be a major venue) and Bryson has a Covid major. Wyndham may have the hypothetical tiebreaker. At least LACC had fans (sorta) and isn’t a regular PGA Tour venue
Ludvig Aberg told me to “Shut the f*** up” for talking during his backswing. I didn’t realize he would be hitting that quickly. @usopengolf your golfers cant talk to fans like that
@freewilllyyyy@usopengolf And just for your record, per Brandel (who is not without his flaws) this morning:
“Last night I called up Bob Ford (head pro at Oakmont) to ask about Wyndham. He said ‘we are so far past that… [Wyndham] is a great guy and has done everything the club has asked of him’.”
@freewilllyyyy@usopengolf Hey, good for you for knowing your rights. He’s addressed it time and time again. If that hasn’t been good enough for you, I’m sure that will leave a base taste in Wyndham’s mouth when he’s opening some grape 24 hours from now
@UsedGolfFacts@BenColeyGolf@KVanValkenburg Because JT was dealing with injury, rehab, and trying to get his game back. Bryson is trying to hit ping pong balls into shot glasses on instagram and playing muni golf on YouTube. One’s activity correlates to serious golf, and the other’s doesn’t. Can you guess which is which?
@freewilllyyyy@fried_egg_golf@JosephLaMagna How has he “continually” endangered people? There was one incident that involved another person being adjacent to a club throw. Is the USGA supposed to have different standards for competitors based on past major performance?
@freewilllyyyy@usopengolf Serious damage? One locker. Historical club, sure, but he’s addressed it and his remorse multiple times. There isn’t any record of a refusal to cover the cost.
Odd you aren’t out for a Rahm suspension after he *actually* hit a volunteer with a divot from close range at the PGA
