Rayman Legends Retold is what caught my attention the most for me

A great light novel series I want to recommend is The Isolator by Reki Kawahara.

Even if you don’t like Sword Art Online or Accel World, you might gain newfound appreciation for Kawahara as a writer through this series. It’s a notable departure from what he usually writes (VRMMO settings), and contains some of his strongest work to date.

It’s a tightly-written Sci-Fi psychological thriller that’s only 5 volumes long right now (though the series is likely abandoned at this point, unfortunately), all of which have been translated in English and are well worth the read.
