Kenya needs to have conversation on its Doctors. In many cases when one is under anesthesia even for the most minor of surgeries, they end up dead & if they survive, they are permanently disabled or in vegetative state. The problem is the same whether one is in the top hospital or a village hospital. For too long, Doctors protect each other from professional negligence. It is time we have an independent medical oversight authority to check on every surgery in Kenya. My Mama died from cancer but her death was accelerated by botched surgery in two local hospitals before I took her to India where they identified the negligence. In Kenya, one walks in to a hospital for a minor surgery even on the knee & ends up dead! It has to stop!
