Finally got the new stick out of the shop for a field test. Tried 2 different lines and the results were good. I don't particularly like the SA Amplitude MPX WF-F line paired with this rod. More casting with other lines needed. 👍
Fly rods are a unique tool for the purpose of artfully catching fish. A fly rod becomes an extension of the angler and with practice it becomes an appendage which becomes more sharp with use. It's a beautiful thing to watch someone who has merged with his tools in and artful way.
Here's a tip for my angling friends. Have a list of 5 important characteristics that you require in a fishing buddy. Then go fishing with any of your friends that can meet at least 3 of those requirements. Finally, work hard yourself meet all 5! Want to know what's on my list?
I'm sitting here at my work desk thinking about the times in my life where I learned enough about something from a position that I should have written a book about it. I very recently hit one of those points again. Still not an author.
