Afflictions are light when compared with what we really deserve. They are light when compared with sufferings of the Lord Jesus. But perhaps their real lightness is best seen by comparing them with the weight of glory which is awaiting us.

Cancel culture is not new. William Tyndale paid a high price for translating the Bible into English. In 1536 he fled England, was arrested in Belgium, was tried for heresy and then strangled. Then his dead body was burned. Yet within a few years English Bibles were everywhere!
Paul, writing to Titus, 5 times mentions GOOD WORKS.
1:16 - disqualified for every good work
2:7 – a pattern of good works
2:14 – a people zealous for good works
3:1 – ready for every good work

I heard Fauci yesterday saying pregnant women should get vaccinated against Covid. So imagine my surprise to see that’s probably a really bad idea https://t.co/TY6R9zr6ik
God only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God.
Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us.
Psalm 62:6-8 ESV
We have been granted to suffer for the sake of Christ. Philippians 1:29
Christ suffered for us. We are called to follow in his steps. 1 Ptr 2:21-23
Not suffering for suffering's sake, but suffering reproach, persecution, and hardship in taking the gospel to a fallen world.
In Romans 4:18 there was no evidentiary reason for Abraham to hope for (expect) what God had promised – he believed with expectation & became what God said he would become.
The focus of his faith: what God said.
The focus of his hope (expectation): manifestation of what God said
God reveals a truth to us and we boast to others of what we’ve seen as though we are the truth’s source.
"All we have we’ve received so why do we boast as if it were original with us?" - 1 Corinthians 4:7
Western culture: consumption, intake, rights & privileges, popularity VS. Kingdom of God culture: sacrifice, outflow, responsibility, being persecuted for Christ's sake. When we are persecuted do we revert to our rights & privileges or do we rather gladly bear the shame? Acts5:41
@LizSpinazola This is forgiving one another as God in Christ forgave us. Ephesians 4:32. While we we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8. So God's forgiveness is extended to us before we repent and He gives us the grace to do the same to our offenders. Forgive until it sticks.
