Burgas - comes from Burgaz which is how Turks pronounce the Greek Pyrgos. Lots of Greeks lived in the small settlement than grew into a major port in the 20th c. Writer Kostas Varnalis comes from Burgas. Large population of people with ancestry from Macedonia, Turkish Thrace etc

The installation of the first SEATRAC autonomous sea access systems has begun on the beaches of Alexandroupolis, first being installed on the GNTO beach and in Agia Paraskevi, Makri.
SEATRAC is a fixed track mechanism in which a wheelchair can be moved in and out of the water.
